Holy Quran Surah Taha with English translation by Dr Tahir ul Qadri

* Adam’s act of eating from the tree took place before he was blessed with prophethood. This incident took place in Paradise, whereas he was honoured with the blessing of prophethood after coming down from heaven and settling on the earth, as indicated in the next two verses: 122–123.

121. So (in fondness of that station of eternal nearness to Allah) both ate the fruit of that tree. So, their private parts became exposed to them, and both began to stick to their (bodies) the leaves of (the trees in) Paradise. And Adam made a mistake (by way of omission) in (understanding) his Lord’s command.* So he could not achieve the aim (of eternal life in Paradise).

* The prohibition did not pertain to a particular tree; it rather signified the whole of its kind. He did not eat of a particular tree but of another tree of the same kind. He was under the impression that perhaps it was a particular tree which was prohibited and which he abstained from.

121. Faakala minha fabadat lahuma sawatuhuma watafiqa yakhsifani AAalayhima min waraqi aljannati waAAasa adamu rabbahu faghawa

121. Og begge spiste frukt av det treet (i det brennende ønsket om å leve i Allahs nærhet i all evighet). Deres kjønnsdeler ble synlige for dem, og begge begynte å klistre paradisets (trærs) blader på kroppen sin, og Adam klarte ikke (å forstå) sin Herres befaling, og begikk en glemsomhetsfeil*. Han klarte ikke å lykkes (med oppnå evig liv i paradiset).

* Gjaldt forbudet kun et tre eller alle dets sorter? For profeten Adam عليه السلام spiste ikke frukt av nøyaktig det treet, men av et annet tre av samme sort; han tenkte at forbudet muligens gjaldt kun det ene treet.

सो दोनों ने (इस मक़ामे क़ुर्बे इलाही की ला ज़वाल ज़िन्दगी के शौक़ में) उस दरख़्त से फल खा लिया पस उन पर उनके मुक़ामहाए सतर ज़ाहिर हो गए और दोनों अपने (बदन) पर जन्नत (के दरख़्तों) के पत्ते चिपका ने लगे और आदम (अ़लैहिस्सलाम) से अपने रब के हुक्म (को समझने) में फरो गुज़ाश्त हुई * सो वोह (जन्नत में दाइमी ज़िन्दगी की) मुराद न पा सके।

* (कि मुमानअ़त मख़्सूस एक दरख़्त की थी या उसकी पूरी नौअ़ की थी, क्योंकि आप (अ़लैहिस्सलाम) ने फल उस मख़्सूस दरख़्त का नहीं खाया था बल्कि उसी नौअ़ के दूसरे दरख़्त से खाया था, ये समझ कर कि शायद मुमानअ़त उसी एक दरख़्त की थी)

১২১. সুতরাং উভয়ে (আল্লাহ্‌র নিকটবর্তী অনন্ত জীবনের প্রবল আগ্রহে) সে বৃক্ষের ফল ভক্ষণ করলেন। অতঃপর তাদের লজ্জাস্থান তাদের নিকট প্রকাশ হয়ে পড়লো এবং উভয়ে তাদের (শরীরের) উপর জান্নাতের (বৃক্ষ) পত্র জড়াতে লাগলেন। আর আদম (আলাইহিস সালাম) তাঁর প্রতিপালকের নির্দেশ (বুঝতে) ভুল করলেন।* সুতরাং তিনি (জান্নাতে অনন্ত জীবনের) লক্ষ্য অর্জন করতে পারলেন না।

*নিষেধাজ্ঞা কেবল এক নির্দিষ্ট বৃক্ষের ছিল অথবা পুরো এক ধরণের বৃক্ষের ছিল। কেননা আদম আলাইহিস সালাম এ বিশেষ বৃক্ষের ফল ভক্ষণ করেননি বরং একই প্রকারের অন্য আরেকটি গাছ থেকে খেয়েছিলেন, এ কথা মনে করে যে, হয়ত নিষেধাজ্ঞা কেবল এক বিশেষ গাছের ছিল।

(Taha, 20 : 121)

ثُمَّ اجۡتَبٰہُ رَبُّہٗ فَتَابَ عَلَیۡہِ وَ ہَدٰی ﴿۱۲۲﴾

122. پھر ان کے رب نے انہیں (اپنی قربت و نبوت کے لئے) چن لیا اور ان پر (عفو و رحمت کی خاص) توجہ فرمائی اور منزلِ مقصود کی راہ دکھا دیo

122. Then his Lord chose him (for His proximity), turned to him (with mercy) and guided (him to repentance).

122. Then his Lord chose him (for His nearness and Prophethood), and turned to him (in His exceptional forgiveness and mercy), and showed the path to the coveted destination.

122. Thumma ijtabahu rabbuhu fataba AAalayhi wahada

122. Deretter utvalgte Herren hans ham (for Sin nærhet og profetskapet) og vendte Seg mot Ham (i nåde med særskilt tilgivelse) og viste ham målets vei.

122. फिर उनके रब ने उन्हें (अपनी क़ुर्बतो नुबुव्वत के लिए) चुन लिया और उन पर (अ़फ्वो रह्‌मत की ख़ास) तवज्जोह फरमाई और मंज़िले मक्सूद की राह दिखा दी।

১২২. অতঃপর তাঁর প্রতিপালক (নিজের নৈকট্য ও নবুয়্যতের জন্যে) তাঁকে মনোনীত করলেন এবং তাঁর প্রতি (ক্ষমা ও অনুগ্রহপূর্ণ বিশেষ) মনোনিবেশ প্রদান করলেন এবং অভীষ্ট লক্ষ্যের পথ দেখালেন।

(Taha, 20 : 122)

قَالَ اہۡبِطَا مِنۡہَا جَمِیۡعًۢا بَعۡضُکُمۡ لِبَعۡضٍ عَدُوٌّ ۚ فَاِمَّا یَاۡتِیَنَّکُمۡ مِّنِّیۡ ہُدًی ۬ۙ فَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ ہُدَایَ فَلَا یَضِلُّ وَ لَا یَشۡقٰی ﴿۱۲۳﴾

123. ارشاد ہوا: تم یہاں سے سب کے سب اتر جاؤ، تم میں سے بعض بعض کے دشمن ہوں گے، پھر جب میری جانب سے تمہارے پاس کوئی ہدایت (وحی) آجائے سو جو شخص میری ہدایت کی پیروی کرے گا تو وہ نہ (دنیا میں) گمراہ ہوگا اور نہ (آخرت میں) بدنصیب ہوگاo

123. He said: ‘Get down from here, all together, being enemies of one another! And if guidance should come to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance will not go astray, nor will he be miserable.

123. (Allah) said: ‘Go down from here, all of you. Some of you will be enemies to some others. Then if there comes to you any Guidance (Revelation) from Me, whoever will follow My Guidance will neither lose the straight path (in the world), nor face misfortune (in the Hereafter).

123. Qala ihbita minha jameeAAan baAAdukum libaAAdin AAaduwwun faimma yatiyannakum minnee hudan famani ittabaAAa hudaya fala yadillu wala yashqa

123. Allah sa: «Kom dere ned herfra, alle sammen! Noen av dere vil være andres fiender, men når det kommer rettledning (åpenbaring) til dere fra Meg, så vil den som følger rettledningen Min, ikke være villfaren (i jordelivet) og ei heller ulykkelig (i det hinsidige).

123. इर्शाद हुवा: तुम यहां से सबके सब उतर जाओ, तुम में से बा’ज़ बा’ज़ के दुश्मन होंगे, फिर जब मेरी जानिब से तुम्हारे पास कोई हिदायत (वही) आ जाए सो जो शख़्स मेरी हिदायत की पैरवी करेगा तो वोह न (दुन्या में) गुमराह होगा और न (आख़िरत में) बदनसीब होगा।

১২৩. ইরশাদ হলো, ‘তোমরা সকলে এখান থেকে নেমে যাও; তোমরা পরস্পর পরস্পরের শত্রু। এরপর যখন আমার পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের নিকট (প্রত্যাদেশসূচক) কোনো হেদায়াত আসবে, যে ব্যক্তি আমার হেদায়াতের অনুসরণ করবে, সে না (দুনিয়াতে) গোমরাহ্ হবে, আর না (পরকালে) দুর্ভাগা হবে।

(Taha, 20 : 123)

وَ مَنۡ اَعۡرَضَ عَنۡ ذِکۡرِیۡ فَاِنَّ لَہٗ مَعِیۡشَۃً ضَنۡکًا وَّ نَحۡشُرُہٗ یَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ اَعۡمٰی ﴿۱۲۴﴾

124. اور جس نے میرے ذکر (یعنی میری یاد اور نصیحت) سے روگردانی کی تو اس کے لئے دنیاوی معاش (بھی) تنگ کردیا جائے گا اور ہم اسے قیامت کے دن (بھی) اندھا اٹھائیں گےo

124. And whoever turns away from My remembrance, there shall be indeed a depressing life for him. And We shall raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection.’

124. And whoever turns away from My direction and guidance (i.e., remembrance and advice), his worldly sustenance will be narrowed, and We shall raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection (as well).’

124. Waman aAArada AAan thikree fainna lahu maAAeeshatan dankan wanahshuruhu yawma alqiyamati aAAman

124. Og den som vender seg bort fra Min ihukommelse (og formaning), for ham vil verdslig levebrød bli gjort trangt, og på oppstandelsens dag vil Vi gjenoppvekke ham som blind.»

124. और जिसने मेरे ज़िक्र (यानी मेरी याद और नसीहत) से रूगर्दानी की तो उसके लिए दुन्यावी मआश (भी) तंग कर दिया जाएगा और हम उसे क़ियामत के दिन (भी) अंधा उठाएंगे।

১২৪. আর যে আমার নির্দেশনা (অর্থাৎ আমার স্মরণ ও উপদেশ) থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেবে, তার পার্থিব জীবিকাও সংকীর্ণ করে দেয়া হবে এবং আমরা তাকে কিয়ামতের দিনে(ও) অন্ধ অবস্থায় উত্থিত করবো।’

(Taha, 20 : 124)

قَالَ رَبِّ لِمَ حَشَرۡتَنِیۡۤ اَعۡمٰی وَ قَدۡ کُنۡتُ بَصِیۡرًا ﴿۱۲۵﴾

125. وہ کہے گا: اے میرے رب! تو نے مجھے (آج) اندھا کیوں اٹھایا حالانکہ میں (دنیا میں) بینا تھاo

125. He will say: ‘My Lord! Why have You raised me blind, though I used to see (before)?’

125. He will say: ‘O my Lord, why have You raised me up blind (Today) whereas I had vision (in the world)?’

125. Qala rabbi lima hashartanee aAAma waqad kuntu baseeran

125. Han vil si: «Herren min! Hvorfor har Du gjenoppvekket meg som blind (i dag), enda jeg var seende (i jordelivet)?»

125. वोह कहेगा: ऐ मेरे रब! तूने मुझे (आज) अंधा क्यों उठाया हालांकि मैं (दुन्या में) बीना था।

১২৫. সে বলবে, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক! তুমি কেন (আজ) আমাকে অন্ধ অবস্থায় উত্থিত করলে, অথচ আমি (দুনিয়াতে) ছিলাম চক্ষুষ্মান?’

(Taha, 20 : 125)

قَالَ کَذٰلِکَ اَتَتۡکَ اٰیٰتُنَا فَنَسِیۡتَہَا ۚ وَکَذٰلِکَ الۡیَوۡمَ تُنۡسٰی ﴿۱۲۶﴾

126. ارشاد ہوگا: ایسا ہی (ہوا کہ دنیا میں) تیرے پاس ہماری نشانیاں آئیں پس تو نے انہیں بھلا دیا اور آج اسی طرح تو (بھی) بھلا دیا جائے گاo

126. He will say: ‘This is how it is. Our revelations came to you, but you forgot them. And thus, you are forgotten today.’

126. (Allah) will say: ‘In like manner, Our signs came to you (in the world), but you forgot them, and the same way you (too) will be forgotten Today.’

126. Qala kathalika atatka ayatuna fanaseetaha wakathalika alyawma tunsa

126. Allah vil si: «Det var slik at det (under jordelivet) kom Våre tegn til deg, men du glemte dem, og i dag vil du bli glemt på samme måte!»

126. इर्शाद होगा: ऐसा ही (हुवा कि दुन्या में) तेरे पास हमारी निशानियां आईं पस तूने उन्हें भुला दिया और आज उसी तरह तू (भी) भुला दिया जाएगा।

১২৬. ইরশাদ হবে, ‘এভাবেই (দুনিয়াতে) তোমার নিকট আমাদের নিদর্শনাবলী এসেছিল, আর তুমি সেগুলো ভুলে গিয়েছিলে এবং আজ সেভাবেই তোমাকে(ও) ভুলে যাওয়া হবে।’

(Taha, 20 : 126)

وَ کَذٰلِکَ نَجۡزِیۡ مَنۡ اَسۡرَفَ وَ لَمۡ یُؤۡمِنۡۢ بِاٰیٰتِ رَبِّہٖ ؕ وَ لَعَذَابُ الۡاٰخِرَۃِ اَشَدُّ وَ اَبۡقٰی ﴿۱۲۷﴾

127. اور اسی طرح ہم اس شخص کو بدلہ دیتے ہیں جو (گناہوں میں) حد سے نکل جائے اور اپنے رب کی آیتوں پر ایمان نہ لائے، اور بیشک آخرت کا عذاب بڑا ہی سخت اور ہمیشہ رہنے والا ہےo

127. And thus, We recompense the one who exceeds the limits and does not believe in the revelations of his Lord. And indeed, the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more lasting.

127. And that is how We recompense the one who exceeds the limit (in sins), and does not believe in the Revelations of his Lord, and surely the torment of the Last Day is extremely severe and everlasting.

127. Wakathalika najzee man asrafa walam yumin biayati rabbihi walaAAathabu alakhirati ashaddu waabqa

127. Og slik lønner Vi den som overskrider grensen (i syndighet) og nekter å anta troen på sin Herres tegn. Det hinsidiges pine er visselig den aller hardeste og evigvarende.

127. और उसी तरह हम उस शख़्स को बदला देते हैं जो (गुनाहों में) हद से निकल जाए और अपने रब की आयतों पर ईमान न लाए, और बेशक आख़िरत का अ़ज़ाब बड़ा ही सख़्त और हमेशा रहने वाला है।

১২৭. আর এভাবেই আমরা সে ব্যক্তির প্রতিফল দেই, যে (গোনাহে) সীমালঙ্ঘন করে এবং তার প্রতিপালকের নিদর্শনে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে না। আর পরকালের শাস্তি তো অবশ্যই বড় কঠিন এবং চিরস্থায়ী।

(Taha, 20 : 127)

اَفَلَمۡ یَہۡدِ لَہُمۡ کَمۡ اَہۡلَکۡنَا قَبۡلَہُمۡ مِّنَ الۡقُرُوۡنِ یَمۡشُوۡنَ فِیۡ مَسٰکِنِہِمۡ ؕ اِنَّ فِیۡ ذٰلِکَ لَاٰیٰتٍ لِّاُولِی النُّہٰی ﴿۱۲۸﴾٪

128. کیا انہیں (اس بات نے) ہدایت نہ دی کہ ہم نے ان سے پہلے کتنی ہی امتوں کو ہلاک کر دیا جن کی رہائش گاہوں میں (اب) یہ لوگ چلتے پھرتے ہیں، بیشک اس میں دانش مندوں کے لئے (بہت سی) نشانیاں ہیںo

128. Does it not guide them (to see) how many generations We have destroyed before them in whose dwellings they walk around? There are indeed signs in that for those who possess reason.

128. Has (this fact) not guided them as to how many people We destroyed before them in whose dwelling places they (now) walk about? Undoubtedly, in this are (many) signs for the wise.

128. Afalam yahdi lahum kam ahlakna qablahum mina alqurooni yamshoona fee masakinihim inna fee thalika laayatin liolee alnnuha

128. Ble de ikke rettledet av (den sannheten om) hvor mange samfunn Vi tilintetgjorde før dem, hvis boliger de vandrer rundt omkring på (nå)? Sannelig, i dette er det (mange) tegn for de vise.

128.क्या उन्हें (इस बात ने) हिदायत न दी कि हमने उनसे पहले कितनी ही उम्मतों को हलाक कर दिया जिनकी रहाइशगाहों में (अब) ये लोग चलते फिरते हैं, बेशक उसमें दानिशमन्दों के लिए (बहुत सी) निशानियां हैं।

১২৮. তাদেরকে কি (এ বিষয়টি) হেদায়াত প্রদান করেনি যে, আমরা তাদের পূর্বে কতো মানবগোষ্ঠীকে ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি, যাদের আবাসস্থলে (এখন) এরা বিচরণ করছে? নিশ্চয়ই এতে বুদ্ধিমানদের জন্যে রয়েছে (বহু) নিদর্শন।

(Taha, 20 : 128)

وَ لَوۡ لَا کَلِمَۃٌ سَبَقَتۡ مِنۡ رَّبِّکَ لَکَانَ لِزَامًا وَّ اَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّی ﴿۱۲۹﴾ؕ

129. اور اگر آپ کے رب کی جانب سے ایک بات پہلے سے طے نہ ہو چکی ہوتی اور (ان کے عذاب کے لئے قیامت کا) وقت مقرر نہ ہوتا تو (ان پر عذاب کا ابھی اترنا) لازم ہو جاتاo

129. Had it not been for a previous word from your Lord and an appointed term (for their punishment), the inevitable (calamity) would have happened.

129. And had it not been settled already by your Lord, and the time (of the Day of Resurrection) not fixed (for their torment, befalling them) the calamity (right now) would have been inevitable.

129. Walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika lakana lizaman waajalun musamman

129. Og hadde det ikke vært for et ord som på forhånd var avgjort av Herren din, og hadde ikke tiden (for oppstandelsens dag) blitt fastsatt (for deres pine), ville det (pinens nedsendelse over dem i dette øyeblikket) ha vært uunngåelig.

129. और अगर आपके रब की जानिब से एक बात पहले से तय न हो चुकी होती और (उनके अ़ज़ाब के लिए क़ियामत का) वक़्त मुक़र्रर न होता तो (उन पर अ़ज़ाब का अभी उतरना) लाज़िम हो जाता।

১২৯. আর যদি আপনার প্রতিপালকের পক্ষ থেকে পূর্বেই তা নির্ধারিত না থাকতো এবং (তাদের শাস্তির জন্যে কিয়ামতের) সময় নির্ধারিত না হতো, তবে (এখনই তাদের প্রতি শাস্তি অবতীর্ণ) আবশ্যক হয়ে যেতো।

(Taha, 20 : 129)

فَاصۡبِرۡ عَلٰی مَا یَقُوۡلُوۡنَ وَ سَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّکَ قَبۡلَ طُلُوۡعِ الشَّمۡسِ وَ قَبۡلَ غُرُوۡبِہَا ۚ وَ مِنۡ اٰنَآیِٔ الَّیۡلِ فَسَبِّحۡ وَ اَطۡرَافَ النَّہَارِ لَعَلَّکَ تَرۡضٰی ﴿۱۳۰﴾

130. پس آپ ان کی (دل آزار) باتوں پر صبر فرمایا کریں اور اپنے رب کی حمد کے ساتھ تسبیح کیا کریں طلوعِ آفتاب سے پہلے (نمازِ فجر میں) اور اس کے غروب سے قبل (نمازِ عصر میں)، اور رات کی ابتدائی ساعتوں میں (یعنی مغرب اور عشاء میں) بھی تسبیح کیا کریں اور دن کے کناروں پر بھی (نمازِ ظہر میں جب دن کا نصفِ اوّل ختم اور نصفِ ثانی شروع ہوتا ہے، (اے حبیبِ مکرّم! یہ سب کچھ اس لئے ہے) تاکہ آپ راضی ہو جائیںo

130. So be patient with what they say. And glorify the praise of your Lord before sunrise and before sunset. And glorify Him in the hours of the night and at the ends of the day, so that you may be pleased (with the reward).

130. So bear their (heart-rending) talk patiently and glorify your Lord with His praise before the rising of the sun (in Fajr [Dawn] Prayer) and before its setting (in the ‘Asr [Afternoon] Prayer) and glorify Him in the early hours of night (the Maghrib [Sunset] and ‘Isha’ [Night] Prayer) and also at the ends of the day (in Zuhr [Midday] Prayer when the first half of the day ends and the second half starts. O Esteemed Beloved, all this is designed) so that you may be pleased.

130. Faisbir AAala ma yaqooloona wasabbih bihamdi rabbika qabla tulooAAi alshshamsi waqabla ghuroobiha wamin anai allayli fasabbih waatrafa alnnahari laAAallaka tarda

130. Vær du tålmodig med hensyn til deres (hjerteskjærende) ord, og forherlige din Herres hellighet med lovprisning før solens oppgang (under daggrytidebønnen) og før dens nedgang (under ettermiddagstidebønnen), og forherlige også helligheten Hans i nattens tidlige timer (under solnedgangstidebønnen og aftentidebønnen) og ved dagens endepunkter (under middagstidebønnen, da dagens første halvdel slutter og andre halvdel begynner). (Kjære høyaktede elskede ﷺ! Alt dette er) for at du skal bli tilfreds.

130. पस आप उनकी (दिल आज़ार) बातों पर सब्र फरमाया करें और अपने रब की हम्द के साथ तस्बीह किया करें तुलूए आफ्ताब से पहले (नमाज़े फज्र में) और उसके ग़ुरूब से क़ब्ल (नमाज़े अ़स्र में) और रात की इब्तिदाई साअ़तों में (यानी मग़्रिब और इशा में) भी तस्बीह किया करें और दिन के कनारों पर भी (नमाजे़ जु़हर में जब दिन का निस्फे़ अव्वल ख़त्म और निस्फे सानी शुरू होता है, (ऐ हबीबे मुकर्रम! ये सब कुछ इसलिए है) ताकि आप राज़ी हो जाएं।

১৩০. অতঃপর আপনি তাদের (হৃদয় বিদারক) কথায় ধৈর্য ধারণ করুন এবং আপনার প্রতিপালকের সপ্রশংস পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করুন; সূর্যোদয়ের পূর্বে (ফযর নামাযে) এবং সূর্যাস্তের পূর্বে (আসর নামাযে)। আর রাতের প্রথম প্রহরেও (অর্থাৎ মাগরিব এবং এশায়) পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করুন; আর দিবসের দ্বিপ্রহরেও (যোহর নামাযে, যখন দিনের প্রথম অর্ধাংশ শেষ এবং দ্বিতীয় অর্ধাংশ শুরু হয়। হে সম্মানিত হাবীব! এ সকল কিছু এ জন্যে যে) যাতে আপনি সন্তুষ্ট হতে পারেন।

(Taha, 20 : 130)

وَ لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَیۡنَیۡکَ اِلٰی مَا مَتَّعۡنَا بِہٖۤ اَزۡوَاجًا مِّنۡہُمۡ زَہۡرَۃَ الۡحَیٰوۃِ الدُّنۡیَا ۬ۙ لِنَفۡتِنَہُمۡ فِیۡہِ ؕ وَ رِزۡقُ رَبِّکَ خَیۡرٌ وَّ اَبۡقٰی ﴿۱۳۱﴾

131. اور آپ دنیوی زندگی میں زیب و آرائش کی ان چیزوں کی طرف حیرت و تعجب کی نگاہ نہ فرمائیں جو ہم نے (کافر دنیاداروں کے) بعض طبقات کو (عارضی) لطف اندوزی کے لئے دے رکھی ہیں تاکہ ہم ان (ہی چیزوں) میں ان کے لئے فتنہ پیدا کر دیں، اور آپ کے رب کی (اخروی) عطا بہتر اور ہمیشہ باقی رہنے والی ہےo

131. Do not extend your glance towards what We have provided certain groups of them to enjoy as the splendour of this worldly life so that We may test them through it. And the provision of your Lord (in the Hereafter) is better and more lasting.

131. And do not glance with amazement and wonder at the adornments (of worldly life) which We have provided to some classes (of the disbelieving materialists) for their (short-term) luxury so that We may cause for them a trial in these (very things). And the provision of your Lord (in the Hereafter) is the best and eternal.

131. Wala tamuddanna AAaynayka ila ma mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum zahrata alhayati alddunya linaftinahum feehi warizqu rabbika khayrun waabqa

131. Og fest ikke blikket ditt av forbauselse og forundring ved de tingene av jordelivets forskjønnelser som Vi har gitt til noen grupper (vantro materialister) for (kortvarig) nytelse, slik at Vi kan teste dem ved disse (tingene). Din Herres (hinsidige) forsyning er best og evigvarende.

131. और आप दुन्यवी ज़िन्दगी में जै़बो आराइश की उन चीज़ों की तरफ हैरतो तअ़ज्जुब की निगाह न फरमाएं जो हमने (काफिर दुन्यादारों के) बा’ज़ तब्क़ात को (आरज़ी) लुत्फ अंदोज़ी के लिए दे रखी हैं ताकि हम उन (ही चीज़ों) में उनके लिए फित्ना पैदा कर दें, और आपके रब की (उख़्‌रवी) अ़ता बेहतर और हमेशा बाक़ी रहने वाली है।

১৩১. আর আপনি পার্থিব জীবনে সৌন্দর্য ও সাজ-সজ্জার সেসব উপকরণের প্রতি বিষ্ময়াভিভুত দৃষ্টি দেবেন না, যেগুলো আমরা কতক শ্রেণীর (কাফের দুনিয়াদার) লোককে (ক্ষণস্থায়ী) ভোগ বিলাসের জন্যে দিয়েছি, যাতে আমরা এতে (এসব বিষয়ে) তাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করতে পারি। আর আপনার প্রতিপালকের (পরকালীন) জীবনোপকরণ উত্তম এবং চিরস্থায়ী।

(Taha, 20 : 131)

وَ اۡمُرۡ اَہۡلَکَ بِالصَّلٰوۃِ وَ اصۡطَبِرۡ عَلَیۡہَا ؕ لَا نَسۡـَٔلُکَ رِزۡقًا ؕ نَحۡنُ نَرۡزُقُکَ ؕ وَ الۡعَاقِبَۃُ لِلتَّقۡوٰی ﴿۱۳۲﴾

132. اور آپ اپنے گھر والوں کو نماز کا حکم فرمائیں اور اس پر ثابت قدم رہیں، ہم آپ سے رزق طلب نہیں کرتے (بلکہ) ہم آپ کو رزق دیتے ہیں، اور بہتر انجام پرہیزگاری کا ہی ہےo

132. And command your family for prayer and be steadfast in observing it yourself. We do not ask you for any provision. It is We Who provide for you. And the Ultimate End belongs to God-consciousness.

132. And enjoin Prayer on your family and strictly adhere to it. And We do not ask for provision from you, (rather) We provide for you. And it is the act of fearing God that brings about best results.

132. Wamur ahlaka bialssalati waistabir AAalayha la nasaluka rizqan nahnu narzuquka waalAAaqibatu lilttaqwa

132. Og påby din familie tidebønnen, og vær stø på føttene i den. Vi ber ikke om noen forsyning fra deg, derimot gir Vi deg forsyning, og den beste enden er gudfryktighetens.

132. और आप अपने घर वालों को नमाज़ का हुक्म फरमाएं और इस पर साबित क़दम रहें, हम आपसे रिज़्क़ तलब नहीं करते (बल्कि) हम आपको रिज़्क़ देते हैं, और बेहतर अंजाम परहेज़गारी का ही है।

১৩২. আর আপনি আপনার পরিবারবর্গকে নামাযের নির্দেশ দিন এবং এর উপর সুদৃঢ় থাকুন। আমরা আপনার নিকট রিযিক চাই না, (বরং) আমরা আপনাকে রিযিক দেই। আর খোদাভীরুতারই রয়েছে উত্তম পরিণতি।

(Taha, 20 : 132)

وَ قَالُوۡا لَوۡ لَا یَاۡتِیۡنَا بِاٰیَۃٍ مِّنۡ رَّبِّہٖ ؕ اَوَ لَمۡ تَاۡتِہِمۡ بَیِّنَۃُ مَا فِی الصُّحُفِ الۡاُوۡلٰی ﴿۱۳۳﴾

133. اور (کفار) کہتے ہیں کہ یہ (رسول) ہمارے پاس اپنے رب کی طرف سے کوئی نشانی کیوں نہیں لاتے، کیا ان کے پاس ان باتوں کا واضح ثبوت (یعنی قرآن) نہیں آگیا جو اگلی کتابوں میں (مذکور) تھیںo

133. And they say: ‘Why does he not bring us a (visible) sign from his Lord?’ Has there not come to them a clear proof (i.e. the Qur’an), which is (mentioned) in the earlier Scriptures?

133. And (the disbelievers) say: ‘Why does this (Prophet) not bring us any sign from his Lord?’ Has there not come to them (the Qur’an,) a clear proof of the things (mentioned) in the former Books?

133. Waqaloo lawla yateena biayatin min rabbihi awalam tatihim bayyinatu ma fee alssuhufi aloola

133. Og de (vantro) sier: «Hvorfor bringer ikke dette (Sendebudet) et tegn til oss fra Herren sin?» Har det ikke kommet et tydelig bevis (Koranen) til dem om det som var (nevnt) i de tidligere skriftbladene?

133. और (कुफ्फार) कहते हैं कि ये (रसूल) हमारे पास अपने रब की तरफ से कोई निशानी क्यों नहीं लाते, क्या उनके पास उन बातों का वाजे़ह सुबूत (यानी कुरआन) नहीं आ गया जो अगली किताबों में (मजकूर) थीं।

১৩৩. আর (কাফেরেরা) বলে, ‘এ (রাসূল) তাঁর প্রতিপালকের পক্ষ থেকে আমাদের নিকট কোনো নিদর্শন কেন নিয়ে আসে না?’ তাদের নিকট কি এ বিষয়ের সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ (অর্থাৎ কুরআন) আসেনি, যা পূর্ববর্তী কিতাবসমূহে (উল্লেখিত) রয়েছে?

(Taha, 20 : 133)

وَ لَوۡ اَنَّـاۤ اَہۡلَکۡنٰہُمۡ بِعَذَابٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِہٖ لَقَالُوۡا رَبَّنَا لَوۡ لَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡتَ اِلَیۡنَا رَسُوۡلًا فَنَتَّبِعَ اٰیٰتِکَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِ اَنۡ نَّذِلَّ وَ نَخۡزٰی ﴿۱۳۴﴾

134. اور اگر ہم ان لوگوں کو اس سے پہلے (ہی) کسی عذاب کے ذریعہ ہلاک کرڈالتے تو یہ کہتے: اے ہمارے رب! تو نے ہمارے پاس کسی رسول کو کیوں نہ بھیجا کہ ہم تیری آیتوں کی پیروی کرلیتے اس سے قبل کہ ہم ذلیل اور رسوا ہوتےo

134. Had We destroyed them with a punishment before this (revelation), they would certainly have said: ‘Our Lord! Why did You not send a messenger to us, for then we would have followed Your revelations before we became disgraced and humiliated?’

134. And had We destroyed them through some calamity already, they would have said: ‘O Lord, why did You not send us any Messenger so that we might have followed Your Revelations before we were humiliated and disgraced?’

134. Walaw anna ahlaknahum biAAathabin min qablihi laqaloo rabbana lawla arsalta ilayna rasoolan fanattabiAAa ayatika min qabli an nathilla wanakhza

134. Og hvis Vi hadde tilintetgjort dem før dette ved en pine, ville de ha sagt: «Herren vår! Hvorfor sendte Du ikke et sendebud til oss, så vi kunne følge Dine åpenbaringer før vi ble fornedret og vanæret?»

134. और अगर हम उन लोगों को इससे पहले (ही) किसी अ़ज़ाब के ज़रीए हलाक कर डालते तो ये कहते: ऐ हमारे रब! तूने हमारे पास किसी रसूल को क्यों न भेजा कि हम तेरी आयतों की पैरवी कर लेते इससे क़ब्ल कि हम ज़लील और रुस्वा होते।

১৩৪. আর যদি আমরা এ লোকদেরকে এর পূর্বে(ই) কোনো শাস্তি দ্বারা ধ্বংস করে দিতাম, তখন তারা বলতো, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! তুমি আমাদের নিকট কেন কোনো রাসূল প্রেরণ করোনি, তাহলে আমরা লাঞ্ছিত ও অপমানিত হওয়ার পূর্বেই তোমার আয়াতসমূহের আনুগত্য করতে পারতাম?’

(Taha, 20 : 134)

قُلۡ کُلٌّ مُّتَرَبِّصٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوۡا ۚ فَسَتَعۡلَمُوۡنَ مَنۡ اَصۡحٰبُ الصِّرَاطِ السَّوِیِّ وَ مَنِ اہۡتَدٰی ﴿۱۳۵﴾٪

135. فرما دیجئے: ہر کوئی منتظر ہے، سو تم انتظار کرتے رہو، پس تم جلد ہی جان لوگے کہ کون لوگ راہِ راست والے ہیں اور کون ہدایت یافتہ ہیںo

135. Say (to them): ‘Each (of us) is waiting. So keep waiting! For you will soon come to know who the people of the straight path are and who are rightly guided.’

135. Say: ‘Everyone is waiting, so wait on. You will soon come to know who are the people of the right path and who are the guided ones.’

135. Qul kullun mutarabbisun fatarabbasoo fasataAAlamoona man ashabu alssirati alssawiyyi wamani ihtada

135. Si: «Alle avventer, så avvent, dere også! Dere vil snart få vite hvilket folk som er den rette veiens, og hvem som er rettledet!»

135. फरमा दीजिए: हर कोई मुन्तज़िर है, सो तुम इन्तिज़ार करते रहो, पस तुम जल्द ही जान लोगे कि कौन लोग राहे रास्त वाले हैं और कौन हिदायत याफ्ता हैं।

১৩৫. বলে দিন, ‘প্রত্যেকেই অপেক্ষমান, সুতরাং তোমরা অপেক্ষা করতে থাকো, অতঃপর তোমরা সত্বরই জানতে পারবে কোন ব্যক্তি সঠিক পথে এবং কোন ব্যক্তি হেদায়াত প্রাপ্ত।’

(Taha, 20 : 135)

اللہ کے نام سے شروع جو نہایت مہربان ہمیشہ رحم فرمانے والا ہے

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Ever-Merciful

1. طا، ہا (حقیقی معنی اللہ اور رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہی بہتر جانتے ہیں)o

1. Ta-Ha.

1. Ta-Ha. (Only Allah and the Messenger [blessings and peace be upon him] know the real meaning.)

1. Taha

1. Tā, Hā (kun Allah og Sendebudet ﷺ kjenner til den sanne betydningen).

1. ताहा (हक़ीक़ी मअ़ना अल्लाह और रसूल सल्लल्लाहु अ़लैहि व सल्लम ही बेहतर जानते हैं) ।

১. ত্বা-হা। (প্রকৃত অর্থ আল্লাহ তা’আলা এবং রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া আলিহী ওয়া সাল্লামই অধিক অবগত।)

طه

(Taha, 20 : 1)

2. (اے محبوبِ مکرّم!) ہم نے آپ پر قرآن (اس لئے) نازل نہیں فرمایا کہ آپ مشقت میں پڑ جائیںo

2. (Esteemed Prophet!) We have not revealed the Qur’an to you that you should be distressed.

2. (O My Esteemed Beloved!) We have not revealed the Qur’an to you that you land in distress.

2. Ma anzalna AAalayka alqurana litashqa

2. (Kjære høyaktede elskede ﷺ!) Vi har ikke åpenbart Koranen for deg for at den skal være deg til besvær,

2. (ऐ मह्‌बूबे मुकर्रम!) हमने आप पर क़ुरआन (इसलिए) नाज़िल नहीं फरमाया कि आप मशक़्क़त में पड़ जाएं।

২. (হে সম্মানিত মাহবুব!) আমরা আপনার প্রতি কুরআন এ জন্যে অবতীর্ণ করিনি যে, আপনি কষ্টে পতিত হবেন।

ما أنزلنا عليك القرآن لتشقى

(Taha, 20 : 2)

3. مگر (اسے) اس شخص کے لئے نصیحت (بنا کر اتارا) ہے جو (اپنے رب سے) ڈرتا ہےo

3. (We revealed it) only as a reminder for the one who fears (his Lord).

3. But (it) is (revealed as) admonition for him who fears (his Lord).

3. Illa tathkiratan liman yakhsha

3. men den er (åpenbart som) formaning for den som frykter (sin Herre),

3. मगर (उसे) उस शख़्स के लिए नसीहत (बना कर उतारा) है जो (अपने रब से) डरता है।

৩. তবে (এটি) ওই ব্যক্তির জন্যে উপদেশ (হিসেবে অবতীর্ণ) যে (স্বীয় প্রতিপালককে) ভয় করে।

إلا تذكرة لمن يخشى

(Taha, 20 : 3)

4. (یہ) اس (اللہ) کی طرف سے اتارا ہوا ہے جس نے زمین اور بلند و بالا آسمان پیدا فرمائےo

4. (It is) a revelation from the One Who created the earth and the highest heavens.

4. (This) has been revealed by (Allah) Who created the earth and the lofty heavens.

4. Tanzeelan mimman khalaqa alarda waalssamawati alAAula

4. den er blitt åpenbart av Allah, som skapte jorden og de høye himlene.

4. (ये) उस (अल्लाह) की तरफ से उतारा हुआ है जिसने ज़मीन और बलन्दो बाला आस्मान पैदा फरमाए।

৪. (এটি) অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে সে সত্তা (আল্লাহ্) কর্তৃক, যিনি পৃথিবী এবং সুউচ্চ ও সমুন্নত আকাশমন্ডলী সৃষ্টি করেছেন।

تنزيلا ممن خلق الأرض والسماوات العلى

(Taha, 20 : 4)

5. (وہ) نہایت رحمت والا (ہے) جو عرش (یعنی جملہ نظام ہائے کائنات کے اقتدار) پر (اپنی شان کے مطابق) متمکن ہوگیاo

5. The Most-Compassionate (Lord) established (His authority) over the Throne (befitting His Glory).

5. (He is) Most Kind (Lord) Who established (His sovereignty) on the Throne (of power and supreme authority over all the systems of the universe, befitting His Glory).

5. Alrrahmanu AAala alAAarshi istawa

5. (Han er) den mest Barmhjertige som steg over tronen (ifølge Sin Verdighet med Sin eneveldige autoritet, Han har håndhevet Sin befalings system og makt i alle verdener).

الرحمن على العرش استوى

(Taha, 20 : 5)

6. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, whatever is in between them and whatever is under the ground.

6. Lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi wama baynahuma wama tahta alththara

له ما في السماوات وما في الأرض وما بينهما وما تحت الثرى

(Taha, 20 : 6)

7. Whether you speak loudly (or quietly), He certainly knows what is secret and what is even more hidden.

7. And (there is no harm) if, in remembrance and Prayer, you raise (your voice). He knows the secrets (of hearts) and also the most hidden mysteries. (Then how He will not hear the loud supplications!)

7. Wain tajhar bialqawli fainnahu yaAAlamu alssirra waakhfa

7. Og hvis du er høylytt idet du ber skuddbønn eller kommer (Allah) i hu, (så er det ingen synd), Han kjenner til det hemmelige (hjertets hemmeligheter) og det som er mer skjult, (hvorfor skulle da ikke Han høre de høylytte anropene)!

وإن تجهر بالقول فإنه يعلم السر وأخفى

(Taha, 20 : 7)

8. Allah—there is no god except Him. To Him belong the most Beautiful Names.

8. Allah is (His Self-Name) besides Whom there is no God (i.e., believe in Him alone and deny all other false gods). There are (also) many other Beautiful Names for Him (that speak of His most beautiful attributes).

8. Allahu la ilaha illa huwa lahu alasmao alhusna

8. Allah (er Hans personlige egennavn), ingen er tilbedelsesverdig unntatt Han (tro på Ham alene, og fornekt alle avguder)! For Ham er det også mange andre vakre navn (som lærer menneskene å kjenne Hans vakre og enestående egenskaper).

الله لا إله إلا هو له الأسماء الحسنى

(Taha, 20 : 8)

9. اور کیا آپ کے پاس موسٰی (علیہ السلام) کی خبر آچکی ہےo
