اللہ کے نام سے شروع جو نہایت مہربان ہمیشہ رحم فرمانے والا ہے
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Ever-Merciful
اِقۡرَاۡ بِاسۡمِ رَبِّکَ الَّذِیۡ خَلَقَ ۚ﴿۱﴾
1. (اے حبیب!) اپنے رب کے نام سے (آغاز کرتے ہوئے) پڑھئے جس نے (ہر چیز کو) پیدا فرمایاo
1. Read in the Name of your Lord, Who created (everything).
1. (O Beloved!) Read (commencing) with the Name of Allah, Who has created (everything).
1. Iqra biismi rabbika allathee khalaqa
1. (Kjære elskede ﷺ!) Les (innledende) i din Herres navn, Han som skapte (alt)!
1. (ऐ हबीब!) अपने रब के नाम से (आग़ाज़ करते हुए) पढ़िए जिसने (हर चीज़ को) पैदा फरमाया।
১. (হে হাবীব!) পড়ুন আপনার প্রতিপালকের নামে (শুরু করে), যিনি (সকল কিছু) সৃষ্টি করেছেন।
اقرأ باسم ربك الذي خلق
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 1)
خَلَقَ الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنۡ عَلَقٍ ۚ﴿۲﴾
2. اس نے انسان کو (رحمِ مادر میں) جونک کی طرح معلّق وجود سے پیدا کیاo
2. He created human being from a leech-like mass (clinging to the endometrium of the uterus).*
* The words ‘‘alaq’ in this verse and ‘‘alaqa’ in verses 22:5 and 23:14 describe the human embryo from days 7–24 when it clings to the endometrium of the uterus like a leech. Just as the leech clings to the skin and derives blood from the host, the human embryo clings to the endometrium and derives blood from the mother. It is remarkable how much the embryo resembles a leech at 23–24 days. Microscopes were not available in the 7th century, so without recourse to revelation, it would not have been possible for anyone to have known that the human embryo at this stage was clinging to the endometrium and had a leech-like appearance.
2. He created man from a hanging mass (clinging) like a leech (to the mother’s womb).
2. Khalaqa alinsana min AAalaqin
2. Han skapte mennesket fra en festet hengende masse (klamret fast i livmoren som en leddorm [et embryo*]).
* Embryo: fosteranlegg i perioden fra egget har festet seg i livmorslimhinnen, til utgangen av åttende svangerskapsuke.
2. उसने इंसान को (रह्मे मादर में) जोंक की तरह मुअ़ल्लक़ वुजूद से पैदा किया।
২. তিনি মানুষকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন (মায়ের জরায়ুতে) জোঁকের ন্যায় ঝুলন্ত পিন্ড থেকে।
خلق الإنسان من علق
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 2)
اِقۡرَاۡ وَ رَبُّکَ الۡاَکۡرَمُ ۙ﴿۳﴾
3. پڑھیئے اور آپ کا رب بڑا ہی کریم ہےo
3. Read, and your Lord is the Most-Generous,
3. Read, and your Lord is Most Generous,
3. Iqra warabbuka alakramu
3. Les! Herren din er den mest Sjenerøse,
3. पढ़िए और आपका रब बड़ा ही करीम है।
৩. পড়ুন, আর আপনার প্রতিপালক মহামহিমান্বিত
اقرأ وربك الأكرم
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 3)
الَّذِیۡ عَلَّمَ بِالۡقَلَمِ ۙ﴿۴﴾
4. جس نے قلم کے ذریعے (لکھنے پڑھنے کا) علم سکھایاo
4. Who taught (to write) by the pen,
4. Who taught man (reading and writing) by the pen,
4. Allathee AAallama bialqalami
4. Han som belærte (å skrive og lese) gjennom pennen,
4. जिसने क़लम के ज़रीए (लिखने पढ़ने का) इल्म सिखाया।
,৪. যিনি (লেখা-পড়ার) জ্ঞান শিক্ষা দিয়েছেন কলমের মাধ্যমে
الذي علم بالقلم
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 4)
عَلَّمَ الۡاِنۡسَانَ مَا لَمۡ یَعۡلَمۡ ؕ﴿۵﴾
5. جس نے انسان کو (اس کے علاوہ بھی) وہ (کچھ) سکھا دیا جو وہ نہیں جانتا تھا۔ یا- جس نے (سب سے بلند رتبہ) انسان (محمد مصطفی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو (بغیر ذریعۂ قلم کے) وہ سارا علم عطا فرما دیا جو وہ پہلے نہ جانتے تھےo
5. Who taught human being what he did not know.
5. Who (besides that) taught man (all that) which he did not know. Or Who imparted to (the most eminent of) mankind (the chosen Prophet Muhammad [blessings and peace be upon him] without using any pen) the whole knowledge that he was not aware of before.
5. AAallama alinsana ma lam yaAAlam
5. Han som (utenom dette) belærte mennesket (alt) det det intet visste!
(5. Han som forærte [det allerhøyeststående] mennesket [Mohammad ﷺ] all den viten [uten gjennom pennen] som han ikke kjente til før!)
5. जिसने इंसान को (इसके अ़लावा भी) वोह (कुछ) सिखा दिया जो वोह नहीं जानता था। या - जिसने (सबसे बलन्द रुत्बा) इंसान (मुहम्मद मुस्तफा सल्लल्लाहु अ़लैहि व सल्लम) को (बिग़ैर ज़रीअ़ए क़लम के) वोह सारा इल्म अ़ता फरमा दिया जो वोह पहले न जानते थे।
,৫. যিনি মানুষকে (এছাড়াও) সেসব (কিছু) শিখিয়েছেন যা সে জানতো না। <br>অথবা: যিনি (সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ মর্যাদার) মানব (মুহাম্মাদ মুস্তাফা সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া আলিহি ওয়া সাল্লাম)-কে (কলমের সাহায্য ছাড়াই) ঐ সমস্ত জ্ঞান দান করেছেন, যা তিনি পূর্বে জানতেন না।
علم الإنسان ما لم يعلم
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 5)
کَلَّاۤ اِنَّ الۡاِنۡسَانَ لَیَطۡغٰۤی ۙ﴿۶﴾
6. (مگر) حقیقت یہ ہے کہ (نافرمان) انسان سر کشی کرتا ہےo
6. No, indeed, human being becomes rebellious,
6. (But) the fact is that (the disobedient) man rebels,
6. Kalla inna alinsana layatgha
6. Men sannheten er at (det ulydige) mennesket viser oppsetsighet,
6. (मगर) हक़ीक़त ये है कि (नाफरमान) इंसान सर्कशी करता है।
৬. (কিন্তু) প্রকৃত সত্য এই যে, (অবাধ্য) মানুষ বিরোধিতা করে,
كلا إن الإنسان ليطغى
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 6)
اَنۡ رَّاٰہُ اسۡتَغۡنٰی ﴿ؕ۷﴾
7. اس بنا پر کہ وہ اپنے آپ کو (دنیا میں ظاہراً) بے نیاز دیکھتا ہےo
7. when he thinks he is self-sufficient.
7. For the reason that (apparently) he finds himself self-sufficient (in the world).
7. An raahu istaghna
7. for det anser seg selv som selvtilstrekkelig (tilsynelatende i verden).
7. इस बिना पर कि वोह अपने आपको (दुन्या में ज़ाहिरन) बे-नियाज़ देखता है।
৭. এ কারণে যে, সে (আপাতদৃষ্টিতে দুনিয়াতে) নিজেকে স্বয়ংসম্পূর্ণ মনে করে।
أن رآه استغنى
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 7)
اِنَّ اِلٰی رَبِّکَ الرُّجۡعٰی ؕ﴿۸﴾
8. بیشک (ہر انسان کو) آپ کے رب ہی کی طرف لوٹنا ہےo
8. Indeed, to your Lord is the return.
8. Surely, (every man) has to return to your Lord.
8. Inna ila rabbika alrrujAAa
8. Sannelig, enhver (ethvert menneske) skal vende tilbake til Herren din!
8. बेशक (हर इंसान को) आपके रब ही की तरफ लौटना है।
৮. নিশ্চয়ই (প্রত্যেক মানুষকে) আপন প্রতিপালকের দিকেই প্রত্যাবর্তন করতে হবে।
إن إلى ربك الرجعى
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 8)
اَرَءَیۡتَ الَّذِیۡ یَنۡہٰی ۙ﴿۹﴾
9. کیا آپ نے اس شخص کو دیکھا جو منع کرتا ہےo
9. Have you noticed the one who prevents,
9. Have you seen him who prevents,
9. Araayta allathee yanha
9. Har du sett ham som forbyr
9. क्या आपने उस शख़्स को देखा जो मना करता है।
৯. আপনি কি তাকে দেখেছেন, যে বাধা দেয়
أرأيت الذي ينهى
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 9)
عَبۡدًا اِذَا صَلّٰی ﴿ؕ۱۰﴾
10. (اللہ کے) بندے کو جب وہ نماز پڑھتا ہے۔ (یا:- (اللہ کے محبوب و برگزیدہ) بندے (محمد مصطفی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو جب وہ نماز پڑھتے ہیں)o
10. an (esteemed) servant (of Ours) when he prays?*
* These verses are usually understood as a reference to Abu Jahal’s efforts to prevent the Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) from praying at the Ka‘ba.
10. The servant (of Allah) when he prays? Or The (beloved and the exalted) servant of Allah (Muhammad [blessings and peace be upon him]) when he offers Prayers.
10. AAabdan itha salla
10. en (Allahs) tjener når han ber?
(10. [Allahs elskede og opphøyde] tjener [Mohammad ﷺ] når han ber?)
10. (अल्लाह के) बन्दे को जब वोह नमाज़ पढ़ता है, या (अल्लाह के महबूब बर्गुज़ीदा) बन्दे (मुहम्मद मुस्तफा सल्लल्लाहु अ़लैहि व सल्लम) को जब वोह नमाज़ पढ़ते हैं।
,১০. (আল্লাহ্র) বান্দাকে যখন সে নামায আদায় করে? <br>অথবা: (আল্লাহ্র প্রিয়তম এবং মনোনীত) বান্দা (মুহাম্মাদ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া আলিহি ওয়া সাল্লাম)-কে যখন তিনি নামায আদায় করেন?
عبدا إذا صلى
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 10)
اَرَءَیۡتَ اِنۡ کَانَ عَلَی الۡہُدٰۤی ﴿ۙ۱۱﴾
11. بھلا دیکھئے تو اگر وہ ہدایت پر ہوتاo
11. Tell me, if he (i.e. the one who prevents) had been on the right path,
11. Well, imagine! If he had been rightly guided;
11. Araayta in kana AAala alhuda
11. Vel, forestill deg om han fulgte rettledningen,
11. भला देखिए तो अगर वोह हिदायत पर होता।
১১. আচ্ছা ভাবুন তো, সে যদি হেদায়াতের উপর থাকতো!
أرأيت إن كان على الهدى
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 11)
اَوۡ اَمَرَ بِالتَّقۡوٰی ﴿ؕ۱۲﴾
12. یا وہ (لوگوں کو) پرہیزگاری کا حکم دیتا (تو کیا خوب ہوتا)o
12. and encouraged (people) to be God-conscious (would it not have been better for him)?
12. Or if he had commanded (the people) to be pious (how beneficial it would have been)!
12. Aw amara bialttaqwa
12. eller om han befalte gudfryktighet (til folket, hvor utmerket det ville ha vært)!
12. या वोह (लोगों को) पर्हेज़गारी का हुक्म देता (तो क्या ख़ूब होता) ।
১২. অথবা সে (মানুষকে) পরহেযগারীর নির্দেশ দিতো, (তবে কতোই না উত্তম হত)!
أو أمر بالتقوى
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 12)
اَرَءَیۡتَ اِنۡ کَذَّبَ وَ تَوَلّٰی ﴿ؕ۱۳﴾
13. اب بتائیے! اگر اس نے (دینِ حق کو) جھٹلایا ہے اور (آپ سے) منہ پھیر لیا ہے (تو اس کا کیا حشر ہوگا)o
13. Tell me (now), if he has rejected (the truth) and turned away (from it, would that not be worse for him)?
13. But see now when he has rejected (the true Din [Religion]) and has turned away (from you, what torment is he going to face?)
13. Araayta in kaththaba watawalla
13. Si Meg nå! Hvis han forsverger (den sanne levemåten) og vender seg bort (fra deg, hva vil da være hans ende)?
13. आप बताइये! अगर उसने (दीने हक़्क़ को) झुटलाया है और (आपसे) मुंह फेर लिया है (तो उसका क्या हश्र होगा)?
১৩. এখন বলুন! যদি সে (সত্য দ্বীনকে) মিথ্যাপ্রতিপন্ন করে এবং (আপনার থেকে) মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয় (তবে তার কী পরিণতি হবে)?
أرأيت إن كذب وتولى
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 13)
اَلَمۡ یَعۡلَمۡ بِاَنَّ اللّٰہَ یَرٰی ﴿ؕ۱۴﴾
14. کیا وہ نہیں جانتا کہ اللہ (اس کے سارے کردار کو) دیکھ رہا ہےo
14. Does he not know that Allah sees (his conduct)?*
* These four verses, verses 11 to 14, can also be rendered with the following meanings: ‘(O Abu Jahl!) Do you realise if Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him) is on the right path and urges the people to be God-conscious, that your effort to prevent him from worshipping will lead you to be cursed in this world and the Hereafter? And do you realise what will be the fate of the one who rejects the truth and turns away from the right path? Does he not know that Allah watches all what he does?’ These verses may also be rendered with a generalised meaning: ‘Tell me: if someone is on the right path and urges the people to be God-conscious, and then tell me: if someone rejects the truth and turns away from the right path, which one of the two is better? Does he not know that Allah sees and differentiates between the two?’
14. Does he not know that Allah monitors (minutely all his conduct)?
14. Alam yaAAlam bianna Allaha yara
14. Vet han da ikke at Allah ser (all hans atferd)?
14. क्या वोह नहीं जानता कि अल्लाह (उसके सारे किर्दार को) देख रहा है?
১৪. সে কি জানে না যে, আল্লাহ্ (তার সকল কর্মকান্ড) দেখছেন?
ألم يعلم بأن الله يرى
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 14)
کَلَّا لَئِنۡ لَّمۡ یَنۡتَہِ ۬ۙ لَنَسۡفَعًۢا بِالنَّاصِیَۃِ ﴿ۙ۱۵﴾
15. خبر دار! اگر وہ (گستاخئ رسالت اور دینِ حق کی عداوت سے) باز نہ آیا تو ہم ضرور (اسے) پیشانی کے بالوں سے پکڑ کر گھسیٹیں گےo
15. No, indeed! If he does not stop, We shall grab him by the lock of hair over his forehead,
15. Beware! If he does not desist (from the denigration of the Holy Prophet [blessings and peace be upon him] and antagonism against the true Din [Religion]), We shall certainly grab his forehead and drag him by the forelock,
15. Kalla lain lam yantahi lanasfaAAan bialnnasiyati
15. Ta dere i akt! Hvis han ikke gir seg (med å ærekrenke Profeten ﷺ og være den sanne levemåtens fiende), vil Vi visselig slepe ham etter luggen,
15. ख़बरदार! अगर वोह (गुस्ताख़िए रिसालत और दीने हक़्क़ की अ़दावत से) बाज़ न आया तो हम ज़रूर (उसे) पेशानी के बालों से पकड़ कर घसीटेंगे।
১৫. সাবধান! যদি সে (রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া আলিহি ওয়া সাল্লামের অবমাননা এবং সত্য দ্বীনের বিরোধিতায়) বিরত না হয় তবে অবশ্যই আমরা (তাকে) কপালের কেশগুচ্ছ ধরে টেনে হিচঁড়ে নিয়ে যাবো।
كلا لئن لم ينته لنسفعا بالناصية
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 15)
نَاصِیَۃٍ کَاذِبَۃٍ خَاطِئَۃٍ ﴿ۚ۱۶﴾
16. وہ پیشانی جو جھوٹی (اور) خطا کار ہےo
16. a lying, sinful forehead.
16. His lying (and) sinful forehead!
16. Nasiyatin kathibatin khatiatin
16. den luggen som lyver og synder!
16. वोह पेशानी जो झूटी (और) ख़ताकार है।
১৬. তার মিথ্যাচারী (ও) পাপিষ্ঠ কপাল!
ناصية كاذبة خاطئة
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 16)
فَلۡیَدۡعُ نَادِیَہٗ ﴿ۙ۱۷﴾
17. پس وہ اپنے ہم نشینوں کو (مدد کے لئے) بلا لےo
17. Then let him call his comrades (for help).
17. Then let him call his companions (for help).
17. FalyadAAu nadiyahu
17. Så han kan bare rope på sin vennekrets (om hjelp),
17. पस वोह अपने हम नशीनों को (मदद के लिए) बुला ले।
১৭. অতঃপর সে (সাহায্যের জন্যে) তার সঙ্গীদেরকে আহ্বান করুক।
فليدع ناديه
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 17)
سَنَدۡعُ الزَّبَانِیَۃَ ﴿ۙ۱۸﴾
18. ہم بھی عنقریب (اپنے) سپاہیوں (یعنی دوزخ کے عذاب پر مقرر فرشتوں) کو بلا لیں گےo
18. We will call the guards of Hell.
18. We too shall soon call (Our) guards (the angels appointed to inflict the punishment of Hell).
18. SanadAAu alzzabaniyata
18. snart vil Vi også kalle på (Våre) soldater (engler utnevnt over helvetes pine).
18. हम भी अ़नक़रीब (अपने) सिपाहियों यानी दोज़ख़ के अ़ज़ाब पर मुक़र्रर फरिश्तों को बुला लेंगे।
১৮. আমরাও শীঘ্রই (আমাদের) প্রহরীদেরকে (অর্থাৎ জাহান্নামে শাস্তির জন্যে নিয়োজিত ফেরেশতাদেরকে) আহ্বান করবো।
سندع الزبانية
(al-‘Alaq, 96 : 18)
کَلَّا ؕ لَا تُطِعۡہُ وَ اسۡجُدۡ وَ اقۡتَرِبۡ ﴿٪ٛ۱۹﴾
