Surah Quraysh with English Translation

1. قریش کو رغبت دلانے کے سبب سےo

1. (He did this) to make the Quraysh feel secure,

1. To awake drive amongst the Quraysh,

1. Lieelafi qurayshin

1. For at Han skulle vekke forkjærlighet i Qoraysh

1. कुरैश को रग़्बत दिलाने केसबब से।

১. কুরাইশদেরকে উদ্বুদ্ধ করার উদ্দেশ্যে

لإيلاف قريش

2. انہیں سردیوں اور گرمیوں کے (تجارتی) سفر سے مانوس کر دیاo

2. secure in their trading journeys of winter and summer.*

* The word ‘ilaf’ refers to the security the Quraysh reportedly received from the surrounding powers of the Arabian Peninsula, i.e. the Roman Empire, Persia, Abyssinia and Yemen. In the winter, the Quraysh would travel to Yemen to purchase spices and other commodities imported from India. Then, in the summer, they carried these to Syria, selling them and purchasing agricultural products. According to some scholars, this verse refers to the respect the Quraysh received as Custodians of the Ka‘ba, which caused other tribes to grant them safe passage for their trade journeys, thus contributing to their wealth and affluence.

,২. তাদেরকে শীত ও গ্রীষ্মের (বাণিজ্যিক) সফরে অভ্যস্ত করে দিয়েছেন।

3. پس انہیں چاہئے کہ اس گھر (خانہ کعبہ) کے رب کی عبادت کریں (تاکہ اس کی شکر گزاری ہو)o

3. So let them worship the Lord of this House,

3. So they should worship the Lord of this (Sacred) House (Ka‘ba, to give Him thanks),

3. FalyaAAbudoo rabba hatha albayti

3. De bør tilbe Herren over dette huset (Ka‛bah, for å vise Ham takknemlighet),

3. पस उन्हें चाहिए कि इस घर (ख़ानए काबा) के रब की इबादत करें (ताकि उसकी शुक्र गुज़ारी हो) ।

৩. সুতরাং তারা যেন এই গৃহের (অর্থাৎ কা’বাগৃহের) প্রতিপালকের ইবাদত করে (যাতে তাঁর কৃতজ্ঞতা আদায় হয়)

فليعبدوا رب هذا البيت

4. جس نے انہیں بھوک (یعنی فقر و فاقہ کے حالات) میں کھانا دیا (یعنی رِزق فراہم کیا) اور (دشمنوں کے) خوف سے امن بخشا (یعنی محفوظ و مامون زندگی سے نوازا)o

4. Who has fed them (by relieving them) from hunger and secured them from fear.

4. Who has fed them in hunger (i.e., provided them sustenance in starving conditions) and secured them from fear (of foes i.e., blessed them with secure and peaceful life).

4. Allathee atAAamahum min jooAAin waamanahum min khawfin

4. Han som ga dem å spise i sulten (tilrettela forsyning for dem i hungerens dager) og ga dem trygghet mot frykt (fra fienden, ga dem et trygt og fredelig liv).

4. जिसने उन्हें भूक (यानी फक्ऱो फाक़ा के हालात) में खाना दिया (यानी रिज़्क़ फराहम किया) और (दुश्मनों के) ख़ौफ से अम्न बख़्शा (यानी महफूज़ो मामून ज़िन्दगी से नवाज़ा) ।

,৪. যিনি তাদেরকে ক্ষুধায় (অর্থাৎ দারিদ্র্য ও অনাহারের সময়) আহার্য দিয়েছেন (অর্থাৎ রিযিক দান করেছেন) এবং (শত্রুর) ভীতি থেকে নিরাপত্তা দান করেছেন (অর্থাৎ তাদেরকে নিরাপদ ও শান্তিপূর্ণ জীবনের আশীর্বাদে ধন্য করেছেন)।
