وَ کَانَ فِی الۡمَدِیۡنَۃِ تِسۡعَۃُ رَہۡطٍ یُّفۡسِدُوۡنَ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ وَ لَا یُصۡلِحُوۡنَ ﴿۴۸﴾

48. اور (قومِ ثمود کے) شہر میں نو سرکردہ لیڈر (جو اپنی اپنی جماعتوں کے سربراہ) تھے ملک میں فساد پھیلاتے تھے اور اصلاح نہیں کرتے تھےo

48. And there were in the city (of the people of Thamud) nine prominent leaders (leading their respective parties) who used to spread destructive activities in the land and would not do constructive works.

48. Wakana fee almadeenati tisAAatu rahtin yufsidoona fee alardi wala yuslihoona

48. Og det var ni ledere (blant folket Thamōd, som ledet hvert sitt parti). De anstiftet ufred i landet og forbedret ikke noe.

48. और (क़ौमे समूद के) शहर में नौ सर कर्दा लीडर (जो अपनी अपनी जमाअ़तों के सरबराह) थे मुल्क में फसाद फैलाते थे और इस्लाह नहीं करते थे।

৪৮. আর (সামূদ সম্প্রদায়ের) শহরে নয়জন বিশিষ্ট নেতা ছিল (যারা ছিল নিজ নিজ দলের প্রধান); তারা রাজ্যে বিপর্যয় সৃষ্টি করতো এবং গঠনমূলক কিছু করতো না।
