39. اگر کافر لوگ وہ وقت جان لیتے جبکہ وہ (دوزخ کی) آگ کو نہ اپنے چہروں سے روک سکیں گے اور نہ اپنی پشتوں سے اور نہ ہی ان کی مدد کی جائے گی (تو پھر عذاب طلب کرنے میں جلدی کا شور نہ کرتے)o

39. If only the disbelievers knew that a time would come when they would not be able to stop the Fire from (burning) their faces and their backs, nor would they be helped (then they would not seek to hasten it).

39. If the disbelievers knew the time when they will not be able to keep off the Fire (of Hell) from their faces and their backs, nor will they be helped (then they would not call out to hasten the torment).

39. Law yaAAlamu allatheena kafaroo heena la yakuffoona AAan wujoohihimu alnnara wala AAan thuhoorihim wala hum yunsaroona

39. Hvis de vantro hadde kjent til den tiden da de ikke kan stanse (helvetes) ild fra ansiktet sitt og ei heller fra ryggen sin, og at de ikke vil bli hjulpet (da ville de nok ikke ha mast så fælt på å få framskyndet pinen).

39. अगर काफिर लोग वोह वक़्त जान लेते जब कि वोह (दोज़ख़ की) आग को न अपने चेहरों से रोक सकेंगे और न अपनी पुश्तों से और न ही उनकी मदद की जाएगी (तो फिर अ़ज़ाब तलब करने में जल्दी का शोर न करते) ।

৩৯. যদি কাফেরেরা সে সময়ের কথা জানতো, যখন তারা (দোযখের) অগ্নিকে না নিজেদের চেহারা থেকে প্রতিহত করতে পারবে, আর না তাদের পৃষ্ঠ থেকে, আর না তাদেরকে সাহায্য করা হবে। (তখন শাস্তি অন্বেষণে দ্রুততার জন্যে হম্বিতম্বি করতো না।)
