ﯔﯕﯖﯗﯘﯙﯚﯛﯜﯝ

1. (وہ اللہ) بڑی برکت والا ہے جس نے (حق و باطل میں فرق اور) فیصلہ کرنے والا (قرآن) اپنے (محبوب و مقرّب) بندہ پر نازل فرمایا تاکہ وہ تمام جہانوں کے لئے ڈر سنانے والا ہو جائےo

1. Blessed is He (Allah) Who sent down to His (most beloved and most intimate) servant the Criterion (the Qur’an) that (draws the difference between right and wrong and) gives judgment in order that he may be a Warner to all the worlds;

ﯞﯟﯠﯡﯢﯣﯤﯥﯦﯧﯨﯩﯪﯫﯬﯭﯮﯯﯰﯱ

2. وہ (اللہ) کہ آسمانوں اور زمین کی بادشاہت اسی کے لئے ہے اور جس نے نہ (اپنے لئے) کوئی اولاد بنائی ہے اور نہ بادشاہی میں اس کا کوئی شریک ہے اور اسی نے ہر چیز کو پیدا فرمایا ہے پھر اس (کی بقا و ارتقاء کے ہر مرحلہ پر اس کے خواص، افعال اور مدت، الغرض ہر چیز) کو ایک مقررہ اندازے پر ٹھہرایا ہےo

2. He (Allah) to Whom belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and Who has not taken (to Himself) any children, nor has He any partner in His Kingdom and He alone has created everything, and then destined (i.e., formatted) it exactly according to a definite estimation (its features, functions, time frame and everything for all the stages of its growth and survival).

ﭑﭒﭓﭔﭕﭖﭗﭘﭙﭚﭛﭜﭝﭞﭟﭠﭡﭢﭣﭤﭥﭦﭧ

3. اور ان (مشرکین) نے اللہ کو چھوڑ کر اور معبود بنا لئے ہیں جو کوئی چیز بھی پیدا نہیں کر سکتے بلکہ وہ خود پیدا کئے گئے ہیں اور نہ ہی وہ اپنے لئے کسی نقصان کے مالک ہیں اور نہ نفع کے اور نہ وہ موت کے مالک ہیں اور نہ حیات کے اور نہ (ہی مرنے کے بعد) اٹھا کر جمع کرنے کا (اختیار رکھتے ہیں)o

3. And these (polytheists) have taken besides Him other gods which cannot create anything and are themselves created and possess no power either to harm or to benefit themselves and control neither death nor life, nor (have they any authority) to raise up (after death) and assemble.

ﭨﭩﭪﭫﭬﭭﭮﭯﭰﭱﭲﭳﭴﭵﭶﭷﭸﭹ

4. اور کافر لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ یہ (قرآن) محض افتراء ہے جسے اس (مدعئ رسالت) نے گھڑ لیا ہے اور اس (کے گھڑنے) پر دوسرے لوگوں نے اس کی مدد کی ہے، بیشک کافر ظلم اور جھوٹ پر (اتر) آئے ہیںo

4. And the disbelievers say: ‘This (Qur’an) is but a lie which this (claimant of Prophethood) has fabricated and other people have helped him in (inventing) it.’ Surely, the disbelievers have come down to sheer injustice and falsehood.

ﭺﭻﭼﭽﭾﭿﮀﮁﮂﮃ

5. اور کہتے ہیں: (یہ قرآن) اگلوں کے افسانے ہیں جن کو اس شخص نے لکھوا رکھا ہے پھر وہ (افسانے) اسے صبح و شام پڑھ کر سنائے جاتے ہیں (تاکہ انہیں یاد کر کے آگے سنا سکے)o

5. And they say: ‘(This Qur’an comprises) fables of the ancients which this man has got written; then these (fables) are recited to him morning and evening (in order to memorize and narrate further).’

ﮄﮅﮆﮇﮈﮉﮊﮋﮌﮍﮎﮏﮐﮑ

6. فرما دیجئے: اِس (قرآن) کو اُس (اللہ) نے نازل فرمایا ہے جو آسمانوں اور زمین میں (موجود) تمام رازوں کو جانتا ہے، بیشک وہ بڑا بخشنے والا مہربان ہےo

6. Say: ‘He (Allah) Who knows all the secrets (present) in the heavens and the earth has sent down this Qur’an. Surely, He is Most Forgiving, Ever-Merciful.’

ﮒﮓﮔﮕﮖﮗﮘﮙﮚﮛﮜﮝﮞﮟﮠﮡﮢﮣ

7. اور وہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس رسول کو کیا ہوا ہے، یہ کھانا کھاتا ہے اور بازاروں میں چلتا پھرتا ہے۔ اس کی طرف کوئی فرشتہ کیوں نہیں اتارا گیا کہ وہ اس کے ساتھ (مل کر) ڈر سنانے والا ہوتاo

7. And they say: ‘What is the matter with this Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him)? He eats food and walks about in the marketplaces. Why has an angel not been sent down to him that he might (join) him as a Warner?

ﮤﮥﮦﮧﮨﮩﮪﮫﮬﮭﮮﮯﮰﮱﯓﯔﯕﯖﯗ

8. یا اس کی طرف کوئی خزانہ اتار دیا جاتا یا (کم از کم) اس کا کوئی باغ ہوتا جس (کی آمدنی) سے وہ کھایا کرتا اور ظالم لوگ (مسلمانوں) سے کہتے ہیں کہ تم تو محض ایک سحر زدہ شخص کی پیروی کر رہے ہوo

8. Or a treasure should have been sent down to him, or (at least) he should have owned a garden so that he might eat (of its income).’ And the wrongdoers say (to the Muslims): ‘You are following but a man spellbound.’

ﯘﯙﯚﯛﯜﯝﯞﯟﯠﯡ

9. (اے حبیبِ مکرّم!) ملاحظہ فرمائیے یہ لوگ آپ کے لئے کیسی (کیسی) مثالیں بیان کرتے ہیں پس یہ گمراہ ہو چکے ہیں سو یہ (ہدایت کا) کوئی راستہ نہیں پا سکتےo

9. (O Esteemed Beloved!) Just see what sort of comparisons they utter for you! So they have gone astray and cannot find any path (to guidance).

ﯢﯣﯤﯥﯦﯧﯨﯩﯪﯫﯬﯭﯮﯯﯰﯱﯲﯳ

10. وہ بڑی برکت والا ہے اگر چاہے تو آپ کے لئے (دنیا ہی میں) اس سے (کہیں) بہتر باغات بنا دے جن کے نیچے سے نہریں رواں ہوں اور آپ کے لئے عالی شان محلات بنا دے (مگر نبوت و رسالت کے لئے یہ شرائط نہیں ہیں)o

10. Most Blessed is He. If He pleases, He can produce gardens for you (far) better than these (here in the world) beneath which streams flow, and raise for you magnificent palaces (but these are not the conditions for a Prophet and Messenger).

ﯴﯵﯶﯷﯸﯹﯺﯻﯼﯽ

11. بلکہ انہوں نے قیامت کو (بھی) جھٹلا دیا ہے، اور ہم نے (ہر) اس شخص کے لئے جو قیامت کو جھٹلاتا ہے (دوزخ کی) بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ تیار کر رکھی ہےo

11. But they have denied the Last Hour (as well), and for everyone who denies the Last Hour, We have prepared the blazing Fire (of Hell).

ﭑﭒﭓﭔﭕﭖﭗﭘﭙﭚ

12. جب وہ (آتشِ دوزخ) دور کی جگہ سے (ہی) ان کے سامنے ہوگی یہ اس کے جوش مارنے اور چنگھاڑنے کی آواز کو سنیں گےo

12. When that (Fire of Hell) will be visible to them (even) from a distant place, they will hear it raging and roaring.

ﭛﭜﭝﭞﭟﭠﭡﭢﭣﭤ

13. اور جب وہ اس میں کسی تنگ جگہ سے زنجیروں کے ساتھ جکڑے ہوئے (یا اپنے شیطانوں کے ساتھ بندھے ہوئے) ڈالے جائیں گے اس وقت وہ (اپنی) ہلاکت کو پکاریں گےo

13. And when, tightly bound (together or bound to their satans,) they will be thrown into it from some narrow place, then they will cry out for (their) destruction.

ﭥﭦﭧﭨﭩﭪﭫﭬﭭ

14. (ان سے کہا جائے گا:) آج (صرف) ایک ہی ہلاکت کو نہ پکارو بلکہ بہت سی ہلاکتوں کو پکاروo

14. (It will be said to them:) ‘Do not call out (just) for one destruction Today but call for many more destructions.’

ﭮﭯﭰﭱﭲﭳﭴﭵﭶﭷﭸﭹﭺﭻﭼ

15. فرما دیجئے: کیا یہ (حالت) بہتر ہے یا دائمی جنت (کی زندگی) جس کا پرہیزگاروں سے وعدہ کیا گیا ہے، یہ ان (کے اعمال) کی جزا اور ٹھکانا ہےo

15. Say: ‘Is this (a) better (state), or the (life of) eternal Paradise promised to the Godfearing? This is their reward (of deeds) and their abode.

ﭽﭾﭿﮀﮁﮂﮃﮄﮅﮆﮇﮈ

16. ان کے لئے ان (جنتوں) میں وہ (سب کچھ میسّر) ہوگا جو وہ چاہیں گے (اس میں) ہمیشہ رہیں گے، یہ آپ کے رب کے ذمۂ (کرم) پر مطلوبہ وعدہ ہے (جو پورا ہو کر رہے گا)o

16. (All) that they long for will be (available) for them in these (Gardens of Paradise). They will live (in it) for ever. That is a coveted promise which your Lord has made a (bountiful) obligation upon Himself (and which will surely be fulfilled).’

ﮉﮊﮋﮌﮍﮎﮏﮐﮑﮒﮓﮔﮕﮖﮗﮘﮙ

17. اور اس دن اللہ انہیں اور ان کو، جن کی وہ اللہ کے سوا پرستش کرتے تھے، جمع کرے گا، پھر فرمائے گا: کیا تم نے ہی میرے ان بندوں کو گمراہ کر دیا تھا یا وہ (خود) ہی راہ سے بھٹک گئے تھےo

17. And on that Day, Allah will assemble them together with those they worshipped besides Allah. He will then say: ‘Was it you who led these My servants astray, or did they (themselves) go astray from the path?’

ﮚﮛﮜﮝﮞﮟﮠﮡﮢﮣﮤﮥﮦﮧﮨﮩﮪﮫﮬﮭﮮﮯ

18. وہ کہیں گے: تیری ذات پاک ہے ہمیں (تو) یہ بات (بھی) زیبا نہ تھی کہ ہم تیرے سوا اوروں کو دوست (ہی) بنائیں (چہ جائے کہ ہم انہیں تیرے غیر کی عبادت کا کہتے) لیکن (اے مولا!) تو نے انہیں اور ان کے باپ دادا کو (دنیوی مال و اسباب سے) اتنا بہرہ مند فرمایا، یہاں تک کہ وہ تیری یاد (بھی) بھول گئے، اور یہ (بدبخت) ہلاک ہونے والے لوگ (ہی) تھےo

18. They will say: ‘Glory be to You. It did not become us (even) to take friends other than You (let alone asking them to worship others besides You). But, (O Lord,) You bestowed upon them and their fathers worldly riches to such an extent that they forgot (even) Your remembrance. And these were but the (doomed) people to be destroyed.’

ﮰﮱﯓﯔﯕﯖﯗﯘﯙﯚﯛﯜﯝﯞﯟﯠﯡ

19. سو (اے کافرو!) انہوں نے (تو) ان باتوں میں تمہیں جھٹلا دیا ہے جو تم کہتے تھے پس (اب) تم نہ تو عذاب پھیرنے کی طاقت رکھتے ہو اور نہ (اپنی) مدد کی، اور (سن لو!) تم میں سے جو شخص (بھی) ظلم کرتا ہے ہم اسے بڑے عذاب کا مزہ چکھائیں گےo

19. (O disbelievers!) They have denied what you said. So, (now) you can neither avert the torment nor help yourselves. And, (listen,) whoever of you does injustice, We shall make him taste a mighty torment.

ﯢﯣﯤﯥﯦﯧﯨﯩﯪﯫﯬﯭﯮﯯﯰﯱﯲﯳﯴﯵﯶﯷﯸ

20. اور ہم نے آپ سے پہلے رسول نہیں بھیجے مگر (یہ کہ) وہ کھانا (بھی) یقیناً کھاتے تھے اور بازاروں میں بھی (حسبِ ضرورت) چلتے پھرتے تھے اور ہم نے تم کو ایک دوسرے کے لئے آزمائش بنایا ہے، کیا تم (آزمائش پر) صبر کرو گے؟ اور آپ کا رب خوب دیکھنے والا ہےo

20. And We did not send Messengers before you but (that) they certainly ate food and also walked about in the marketplaces (as needed). And We have made you a trial for one another. Will you observe patience (in trial)? And your Lord is All-Seeing.

ﭑﭒﭓﭔﭕﭖﭗﭘﭙﭚﭛﭜﭝﭞﭟﭠﭡﭢﭣﭤﭥﭦ

21. اور جو لوگ ہماری ملاقات کی امید نہیں رکھتے کہتے ہیں کہ ہمارے اوپر فرشتے کیوں نہیں اتارے گئے یا ہم اپنے رب کو (اپنی آنکھوں سے) دیکھ لیتے (تو پھر ضرور ایمان لے آتے)، حقیقت میں یہ لوگ اپنے دِلوں میں (اپنے آپ کو) بہت بڑا سمجھنے لگے ہیں اور حد سے بڑھ کر سرکشی کر رہے ہیںo

21. And those who do not hope for meeting with Us say: ‘Why were angels not sent down to us? Or if we could see our Lord (with our own eyes, we would certainly believe).’ In fact, they esteem (themselves) very highly in their hearts and are rebelling beyond bounds.

ﭧﭨﭩﭪﭫﭬﭭﭮﭯﭰﭱ

22. جس دن وہ فرشتوں کو دیکھیں گے (تو) اس دن مجرموں کے لئے چنداں خوشی کی بات نہ ہوگی بلکہ وہ (انہیں دیکھ کر ڈرتے ہوئے) کہیں گے: کوئی روک والی آڑ ہوتی (جو ہمیں ان سے بچا لیتی یا فرشتے انہیں دیکھ کر کہیں گے کہ تم پر داخلۂ جنت قطعاً ممنوع ہے)o

22. The Day when they will see the angels, there will be no matter of joy for the evildoers anyway on that Day. They will rather say (frightened on seeing them): ‘Would that there were a barricade (which could save us from them! Or the angels, on seeing them, will say: Entry to Paradise is totally forbidden for you.)’

ﭲﭳﭴﭵﭶﭷﭸﭹﭺﭻ

23. اور (پھر) ہم ان اعمال کی طرف متوجہ ہوں گے جو (بزعمِ خویش) انہوں نے (زندگی میں) کئے تھے تو ہم انہیں بکھرا ہوا غبار بنا دیں گےo

23. And (then) We shall turn to the deeds they (presumably) did (in life) and shall make them scattered dust particles.

ﭼﭽﭾﭿﮀﮁﮂﮃ

24. اس دن اہلِ جنت کی قیام گاہ (بھی) بہتر ہوگی اور آرام گاہ بھی خوب تر (جہاں وہ حساب و کتاب کی دوپہر کے بعد جا کر قیلولہ کریں گے)o

24. On that Day, the lodging for the inmates of Paradise will be the best, and their resting place (too) will be excellent (where they will retire for a nap after the reckoning noon).

ﮄﮅﮆﮇﮈﮉﮊﮋ

25. اور اس دن آسمان پھٹ کر بادل (کی طرح دھوئیں) میں بدل جائے گا اور فرشتے گروہ در گروہ اتارے جائیں گےo

25. And that Day, the sky will be rent asunder, changed into (the resemblance of smoke, like) a cloud, and the angels will be sent down rank upon rank.

ﮌﮍﮎﮏﮐﮑﮒﮓﮔﮕﮖ

26. اس دن سچی حکمرانی صرف (خدائے) رحمان کی ہوگی اور وہ دن کافروں پر سخت (مشکل) ہوگاo

26. That Day, true sovereignty will belong to the Most Kind (Lord) and that will be very hard (i.e., tough) Day on the disbelievers.

ﮗﮘﮙﮚﮛﮜﮝﮞﮟﮠﮡﮢ

27. اور اس دن ہر ظالم (غصہ اور حسرت سے) اپنے ہاتھوں کو کاٹ کاٹ کھائے گا (اور) کہے گا: کاش! میں نے رسولِ (اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی معیّت میں (آکر ہدایت کا) راستہ اختیار کر لیا ہوتاo

27. And that Day, every wrongdoer will bite his hands (in fury and frustration and) will say: ‘Would that I had taken the path (of guidance by joining) the companionship of the Holy Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him)!

ﮣﮤﮥﮦﮧﮨﮩ

28. ہائے افسوس! کاش میں نے فلاں شخص کو دوست نہ بنایا ہوتاo

28. Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had not taken such a one for a friend!

ﮪﮫﮬﮭﮮﮯﮰﮱﯓﯔﯕﯖﯗ

29. بیشک اس نے میرے پاس نصیحت آجانے کے بعد مجھے اس سے بہکا دیا، اور شیطان انسان کو (مصیبت کے وقت) بے یار و مددگار چھوڑ دینے والا ہےo

29. Surely, he led me astray from the direction and guidance after it had come to me, and Satan leaves man helpless and forlorn (in the time of distress).

ﯘﯙﯚﯛﯜﯝﯞﯟﯠﯡ

30. اور رسولِ (اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) عرض کریں گے: اے رب! بیشک میری قوم نے اس قرآن کو بالکل ہی چھوڑ رکھا تھاo

30. And the (Holy) Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) will submit: ‘O Lord, surely my people had utterly abandoned this Qur’an.’

ﯢﯣﯤﯥﯦﯧﯨﯩﯪﯫﯬﯭﯮ

31. اور اسی طرح ہم نے ہر نبی کے لئے جرائم شعار لوگوں میں سے (ان کے) دشمن بنائے تھے (جو ان کے پیغمبرانہ مشن کی مخالفت کرتے اور اس طرح حق اور باطل قوتوں کے درمیان تضاد پیدا ہوتا جس سے انقلاب کے لئے سازگار فضا تیار ہو جاتی تھی)، اور آپ کا رب ہدایت کرنے اور مدد فرمانے کے لئے کافی ہےo

31. And that is how We made for every Prophet (their) enemy from the evildoers (who used to oppose their Prophetic mission, and this way, a conflict between the forces of good and evil would develop and a favourable and congenial environment for peaceful change would take shape against tyranny, oppression and injustice). And your Lord is sufficient to guide and help.

ﯯﯰﯱﯲﯳﯴﯵﯶﯷﯸﯹﯺﯻﯼﯽﯾﯿﰀ

32. اور کافر کہتے ہیں کہ اس (رسول) پر قرآن ایک ہی بار (یک جا کرکے) کیوں نہیں اتارا گیا؟ یوں (تھوڑا تھوڑا کر کے اسے) تدریجاً اس لئے اتارا گیا ہے تاکہ ہم اس سے آپ کے قلبِ (اطہر) کو قوت بخشیں اور (اسی وجہ سے) ہم نے اسے ٹھہر ٹھہر کر پڑھا ہے (تاکہ آپ کو ہمارے پیغام کے ذریعے بار بار سکونِ قلب ملتا رہے)o

32. And the disbelievers say: ‘Why has the Qur’an not been (put together and) sent down to this (Prophet) in one go?’ It has been revealed gradually (in segments) so that by this We may strengthen your (most sanctified) heart, and (that is why) We have recited it gradually with pauses (in order that your heart may feel tranquil by receiving Our message again and again).

ﭑﭒﭓﭔﭕﭖﭗﭘﭙ

33. اور یہ (کفار) آپ کے پاس کوئی (ایسی) مثال (سوال اور اعتراض کے طور پر) نہیں لاتے مگر ہم آپ کے پاس (اس کے جواب میں) حق اور (اس سے) بہتر وضاحت کا بیان لے آتے ہیںo

33. And these (disbelievers) do not bring you any (such) instance (as an objection or inquiry), but We provide you with the truth (to reply it) and an explanation better (than that).

ﭚﭛﭜﭝﭞﭟﭠﭡﭢﭣﭤﭥ

34. (یہ) ایسے لوگ ہیں جو اپنے چہروں کے بل دوزخ کی طرف ہانکے جائیں گے یہی لوگ ہیں جو ٹھکانے کے لحاظ سے نہایت برے اور راستے سے (بھی) بہت بہکے ہوئے ہیںo

34. (They) are such people as will be driven headlong towards Hell. It is they who are the worst ones as for their abode and are (also) much distracted from the (straight) path.

ﭦﭧﭨﭩﭪﭫﭬﭭﭮﭯ

35. اور بیشک ہم نے موسٰی (علیہ السلام) کو کتاب عطا فرمائی اور ہم نے ان کے ساتھ (ان کی معاونت کے لئے) ان کے بھائی ہارون (علیہ السلام) کو وزیر بنایاo

35. And surely, We gave Musa (Moses) the Book, and appointed his brother Harun (Aaron) with him as his minister (for his help).

ﭰﭱﭲﭳﭴﭵﭶﭷﭸﭹ

36. پھر ہم نے کہا: تم دونوں اس قوم کے پاس جاؤ جنہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا ہے (جب وہ ہماری تکذیب سے پھر بھی باز نہ آئے) تو ہم نے انہیں بالکل ہی ہلاک کر ڈالاo

36. Then We said: ‘Go, both of you, to the people who have rejected Our signs.’ (But when, despite that, they did not abstain from belying Us) We totally destroyed them.

ﭺﭻﭼﭽﭾﭿﮀﮁﮂﮃﮄﮅﮆﮇﮈ

37. اور نوح (علیہ السلام) کی قوم کو (بھی)، جب انہوں نے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا (تو) ہم نے انہیں غرق کر ڈالا اور ہم نے انہیں (دوسرے) لوگوں کے لئے نشانِ عبرت بنا دیا اور ہم نے ظالموں کے لئے درد ناک عذاب تیار کر رکھا ہےo

37. And the people of Nuh ([Noah] as well), when they denied the Prophets, We drowned them and made them a sign of warning for (other) people. And We have prepared a painful torment for the wrongdoers.

ﮉﮊﮋﮌﮍﮎﮏﮐﮑ

38. اور عاد اور ثمود اور باشندگانِ رس کو، اور ان کے درمیان بہت سی(اور) امتوں کو (بھی ہلاک کر ڈالا)o

38. And (We also annihilated) ‘Ad and Thamud and the residents of Rass and many (other) people in between.

ﮒﮓﮔﮕﮖﮗﮘﮙﮚ

39. اور ہم نے (ان میں سے) ہر ایک (کی نصیحت) کے لئے مثالیں بیان کیں اور (جب وہ سرکشی سے باز نہ آئے تو) ہم نے ان سب کو نیست و نابود کر دیاo

39. And We explained examples to each one (of them for direction and guidance,) but (when they did not refrain from rebellion,) We wiped them off completely.

ﮛﮜﮝﮞﮟﮠﮡﮢﮣﮤﮥﮦﮧﮨﮩﮪﮫﮬﮭ

40. اور بیشک یہ (کفار) اس بستی پر سے گزرے ہیں جس پر بری طرح (پتھروں کی) بارش برسائی گئی تھی، تو کیا یہ اس (تباہ شدہ بستی) کو دیکھتے نہ تھے بلکہ یہ تو (مرنے کے بعد) اٹھائے جانے کی امید ہی نہیں رکھتےo

40. And certainly these (disbelievers) have passed by (the remains of) that town on which was showered a disastrous rain (of stones). Did they not see that (ruined town)? But the truth is that they do not expect to be raised up (after death).

ﮮﮯﮰﮱﯓﯔﯕﯖﯗﯘﯙﯚ

41. اور (اے حبیبِ مکرّم!) جب (بھی) وہ آپ کو دیکھتے ہیں آپ کا مذاق اڑانے کے سوا کچھ نہیں کرتے (اور کہتے ہیں:) کیا یہی وہ (شخص) ہے جسے اللہ نے رسول بنا کر بھیجا ہےo

41. And, (O Esteemed Beloved,) when they see you, they do nothing but make fun of you (and say:) ‘Is this (the one) Allah has sent as a Messenger?

ﯛﯜﯝﯞﯟﯠﯡﯢﯣﯤﯥﯦﯧﯨﯩﯪﯫﯬﯭ

42. قریب تھا کہ یہ ہمیں ہمارے معبودوں سے بہکا دیتا اگر ہم ان (کی پرستش) پر ثابت قدم نہ رہتے اور وہ عنقریب جان لیں گے جس وقت عذاب دیکھیں گے کہ کون زیادہ گمراہ تھاo

42. He had nearly turned us away from our gods, had we not held fast to their (worship).’ And when they see the torment, they will soon realize who was astray.

ﯮﯯﯰﯱﯲﯳﯴﯵﯶﯷ

43. کیا آپ نے اس شخص کو دیکھا ہے جس نے اپنی خواہشِ نفس کو اپنا معبود بنا لیا ہے؟ تو کیا آپ اس پر نگہبان بنیں گےo

43. Have you seen him who has taken the desire of his lower self as god? Would you then become a guardian over him?

ﭑﭒﭓﭔﭕﭖﭗﭘﭙﭚﭛﭜﭝﭞﭟﭠﭡﭢ

44. کیا آپ یہ خیال کرتے ہیں کہ ان میں سے اکثر لوگ سنتے یا سمجھتے ہیں؟ (نہیں) وہ تو چوپایوں کی مانند (ہو چکے) ہیں بلکہ ان سے بھی بدتر گمراہ ہیںo

44. Do you think that most of them hear or understand? (Nay,) they have become like cattle, rather worse in error than they are.

ﭣﭤﭥﭦﭧﭨﭩﭪﭫﭬﭭﭮﭯﭰﭱﭲﭳ

45. کیا آپ نے اپنے رب (کی قدرت) کی طرف نگاہ نہیں ڈالی کہ وہ کس طرح (دوپہر تک) سایہ دراز کرتا ہے اور اگر وہ چاہتا تو اسے ضرور ساکن کر دیتا پھر ہم نے سورج کو اس (سایہ) پر دلیل بنایا ہےo

45. Have you not had a glance of (the Might of) your Lord, how He lengthens the shadow (till noon)? And had He willed, He could certainly have made it stationary. Then We have made the sun a proof of this (shadow).

ﭴﭵﭶﭷﭸﭹ

46. پھر ہم آہستہ آہستہ اس (سایہ) کو اپنی طرف کھینچ کر سمیٹ لیتے ہیںo

46. Then, drawing this (shadow) little by little towards Ourselves, We roll it up.

ﭺﭻﭼﭽﭾﭿﮀﮁﮂﮃﮄﮅ

47. اور وہی ہے جس نے تمہارے لئے رات کو پوشاک (کی طرح ڈھانک لینے والا) بنایا اور نیند کو (تمہارے لئے) آرام (کا باعث) بنایا اور دن کو (کام کاج کے لئے) اٹھ کھڑے ہونے کا وقت بنایاo

47. And He is the One Who has made the night a (wrapper-like) covering for you and made sleep (a means of) rest (for you) and the day a time to get up (for work).

ﮆﮇﮈﮉﮊﮋﮌﮍﮎﮏﮐﮑﮒﮓﮔ

48. اور وہی ہے جو اپنی رحمت (کی بارش) سے پہلے ہواؤں کو خوشخبری بنا کر بھیجتا ہے، اور ہم ہی آسمان سے پاک (صاف کرنے والا) پانی اتارتے ہیںo

48. And He is the One Who sends the breezes as good news before (the rain of) His mercy. And it is We Who send down pure (and cleansing) water from the sky,

ﮕﮖﮗﮘﮙﮚﮛﮜﮝﮞﮟ

49. تاکہ اس کے ذریعے ہم (کسی بھی) مُردہ شہر کو زندگی بخشیں اور (مزید یہ کہ) ہم یہ (پانی) اپنے پیدا کئے ہوئے بہت سے چوپایوں اور (بادیہ نشین) انسانوں کو پلائیںo

49. So that We may give life with that to (any) dead city, and (furthermore) We provide this (water) for drink to many cattle and (nomadic) people that We have created.

ﮠﮡﮢﮣﮤﮥﮦﮧﮨﮩ

50. اور بیشک ہم اس (بارش) کو ان کے درمیان (مختلف شہروں اور وقتوں کے حساب سے) گھماتے (رہتے) ہیں تاکہ وہ غور و فکر کریں پھر بھی اکثر لوگوں نے بجز ناشکری کے (کچھ) قبول نہ کیاo

50. And surely, We keep distributing this (rain) amongst them (on the scale of different times and cities) so that they may contemplate. Even then most people did not accept (anything) except ingratitude.

ﮪﮫﮬﮭﮮﮯﮰﮱ

51. اور اگر ہم چاہتے تو ہر ایک بستی میں ایک ڈر سنانے والا بھیج دیتےo

51. And had We willed, We would have sent a Warner in every town.

ﯓﯔﯕﯖﯗﯘﯙﯚ

52. پس (اے مردِ مومن!) تو کافروں کا کہنا نہ مان اور تو اِس (قرآن کی دعوت اور دلائلِ علم) کے ذریعے ان کے ساتھ بڑا جہاد کرo

52. So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them a great striving through the evidence of this (Qur'an to make them understand the truth).

ﯛﯜﯝﯞﯟﯠﯡﯢﯣﯤﯥﯦﯧﯨﯩﯪﯫ

53. اور وہی ہے جس نے دو دریاؤں کو ملا دیا۔ یہ (ایک) میٹھا نہایت شیریں ہے اور یہ (دوسرا) کھاری نہایت تلخ ہے۔ اور اس نے ان دونوں کے درمیان ایک پردہ اور مضبوط رکاوٹ بنا دیo

53. And He is the One Who joined two rivers, this (one) very sweet and freshening and that (other one) very salty and bitter. And He set a barrier and a strong partition between them.

ﯬﯭﯮﯯﯰﯱﯲﯳﯴﯵﯶﯷﯸﯹ

54. اور وہی ہے جس نے پانی (کی مانند ایک نطفہ) سے آدمی کو پیدا کیا پھر اسے نسب اور سسرال (کی قرابت) والا بنایا، اور آپ کا رب بڑی قدرت والا ہےo

54. And He is the One Who created man from (a sperm drop resembling) water, and made for him (kinship by) lineage and in-laws. And your Lord is All-Powerful.

ﯺﯻﯼﯽﯾﯿﰀﰁﰂﰃﰄﰅﰆﰇﰈﰉ

55. اور وہ (کفار) اللہ کے سوا ان (بتوں) کی عبادت کرتے ہیں جو انہیں نہ (تو) نفع پہنچا سکتے ہیں اور نہ (ہی) انہیں نقصان پہنچا سکتے ہیں، اور کافر اپنے رب (کی نافرمانی) پر (ہمیشہ شیطان کا) مددگار ہوتا ہےo

55. And they (disbelievers) worship besides Allah those (idols) that can neither bring them any profit, nor do them any harm. And the disbeliever is (always) a helper (of Satan) in (disobeying) his Lord.

ﭑﭒﭓﭔﭕﭖ

56. اور ہم نے آپ کو نہیں بھیجا مگر (اللہ کے اطاعت گزار بندوں کو) خوشخبری سنانے والا اور (بغاوت شعار لوگوں کو) ڈر سنانے والا بنا کرo

56. And We have not sent you but as a Bearer of good news (for the obedient servants of Allah) and as a Warner (to the rebels).

ﭗﭘﭙﭚﭛﭜﭝﭞﭟﭠﭡﭢﭣﭤﭥ

57. آپ فرما دیجئے کہ میں تم سے اس (تبلیغ) پر کچھ بھی معاوضہ نہیں مانگتا مگر جو شخص اپنے رب تک (پہنچنے کا) راستہ اختیار کرنا چاہتا ہے (کرلے)o

57. Say: ‘I do not ask you for any compensation for this (preaching), but that whoever desires to take a path to (reach) his Lord (may step in).’

ﭦﭧﭨﭩﭪﭫﭬﭭﭮﭯﭰﭱﭲﭳﭴ

58. اور آپ اس (ہمیشہ) زندہ رہنے والے (رب) پر بھروسہ کیجئے جو کبھی نہیں مرے گا اور اس کی تعریف کے ساتھ تسبیح کرتے رہئے، اور اس کا اپنے بندوں کے گناہوں سے باخبر ہونا کافی ہےo

58. And put your trust in the Ever-Living (Lord) Who will never die, and glorify Him with His praise, and Sufficient is His awareness of the sins of His servants,

ﭵﭶﭷﭸﭹﭺﭻﭼﭽﭾﭿﮀﮁﮂﮃﮄﮅﮆﮇ

59. جس نے آسمانی کرّوں اور زمین کو اور اس (کائنات) کو جو ان دونوں کے درمیان ہے چھ اَدوار میں پیدا فرمایا٭ پھر وہ (حسبِ شان) عرش پر جلوہ افروز ہوا (وہ) رحمان ہے، (اے معرفتِ حق کے طالب!) تو اس کے بارے میں کسی باخبر سے پوچھ (بے خبر اس کا حال نہیں جانتے)o

٭ (ستۃ اَیّام سے مراد چھ اَدوارِ تخلیق ہیں، معروف معنٰی میں چھ دن نہیں کیونکہ یہاں تو خود زمین اور جملہ آسمانی کرّوں، کہکشاؤں، ستاروں، سیاروں اور خلاؤں کی پیدائش کا زمانہ بیان ہو رہا ہے، اس وقت رات اور دن کا وجود کہاں تھا؟)

59. He Who created the heavenly spheres and the earth and this (universe) in between in six periods.* Then He established (His authority) on the Throne (befitting His Majesty. He) is Most Kind. (O aspirant to His gnosis!) Ask of Him someone who has attained to His awareness. (The unaware do not have any gnosis of Him.)

ﮈﮉﮊﮋﮌﮍﮎﮏﮐﮑﮒﮓﮔﮕﮖ

60. اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ تم رحمان کو سجدہ کرو تو وہ (منکرینِ حق) کہتے ہیں کہ رحمان کیا (چیز) ہے؟ کیا ہم اسی کو سجدہ کرنے لگ جائیں جس کا آپ ہمیں حکم دے دیں اور اس (حکم) نے انہیں نفرت میں اور بڑھا دیاo

60. And when it is said to them: ‘Prostrate yourselves before the Most Kind (Lord),’ (the deniers of the truth) say: ‘What is the Most Kind Lord? Shall we prostrate ourselves before whatever you command us?’ And this (command) increased only hatred in them.

ﮗﮘﮙﮚﮛﮜﮝﮞﮟﮠﮡﮢ

61. وہی بڑی برکت و عظمت والا ہے جس نے آسمانی کائنات میں (کہکشاؤں کی شکل میں) سماوی کرّوں کی وسیع منزلیں بنائیں اور اس میں (سورج کو روشنی اور تپش دینے والا) چراغ بنایا اور (اس نظامِ شمسی کے اندر) چمکنے والا چاند بنایاo

61. Most Blessed and Most Glorified is He Who made vast mansions of heavenly spheres (in the form of galaxies) in the heavenly cosmos and made (the sun) in it a (light-generating and heat-emitting) lamp and a shining moon (in the solar system).

ﮣﮤﮥﮦﮧﮨﮩﮪﮫﮬﮭﮮﮯﮰ

62. اور وہی ذات ہے جس نے رات اور دن کو ایک دوسرے کے پیچھے گردش کرنے والا بنایا اس کے لئے جو غور و فکر کرنا چاہے یا شکر گزاری کا ارادہ کرے (ان تخلیقی قدرتوں میں نصیحت و ہدایت ہے)o

62. And He is the One Who made the day and the night rotate after each other for him who desires to contemplate or intends to be grateful. (There is direction and guidance in these creative powers.)

ﮱﯓﯔﯕﯖﯗﯘﯙﯚﯛﯜﯝﯞ

63. اور (خدائے) رحمان کے (مقبول) بندے وہ ہیں جو زمین پر آہستگی سے چلتے ہیں اور جب ان سے جاہل (اکھڑ) لوگ (ناپسندیدہ) بات کرتے ہیں تو وہ سلام کہتے (ہوئے الگ ہو جاتے) ہیںo

63. And the (favourite) servants of the Most Kind (Lord) are those who walk gently on the earth, and when the ignorant (i.e., impolite) people say to them something (unlikable), they (get aside), saying: ‘Peace.’

ﯟﯠﯡﯢﯣﯤ

64. اور (یہ) وہ لوگ ہیں جو اپنے رب کے لئے سجدہ ریزی اور قیامِ (نِیاز) میں راتیں بسر کرتے ہیںo

64. And (these) are the ones who spend their nights prostrating themselves and standing before their Lord (cloaked in submissiveness).

ﯥﯦﯧﯨﯩﯪﯫﯬﯭﯮﯯﯰﯱ

65. اور (یہ) وہ لوگ ہیں جو (ہمہ وقت حضورِ باری تعالیٰ میں) عرض گزار رہتے ہیں کہ اے ہمارے رب! تو ہم سے دوزخ کا عذاب ہٹا لے، بیشک اس کا عذاب بڑا مہلک (اور دائمی) ہےo

65. And (these) are the people who pray (all the time before the presence of Allah): ‘O our Lord, turn away from us the torment of Hell. Surely, its torment is most injurious (and everlasting).

ﯲﯳﯴﯵﯶ

66. بیشک وہ (عارضی ٹھہرنے والوں کے لئے) بُری قرار گاہ اور (دائمی رہنے والوں کے لئے) بُری قیام گاہ ہےo

66. Surely, that is an evil lodging (for temporary lodgers) and an evil abode (for permanent dwellers).’

ﯷﯸﯹﯺﯻﯼﯽﯾﯿﰀﰁﰂ

67. اور (یہ) وہ لوگ ہیں کہ جب خرچ کرتے ہیں تو نہ بے جا اڑاتے ہیں اور نہ تنگی کرتے ہیں اور ان کا خرچ کرنا (زیادتی اور کمی کی) ان دو حدوں کے درمیان اعتدال پر (مبنی) ہوتا ہےo

67. And (these) are the people who are neither extravagant nor miserly when they spend. And their spending is (based on) a balance between the two extremes (of extravagance and miserliness).

ﭑﭒﭓﭔﭕﭖﭗﭘﭙﭚﭛﭜﭝﭞﭟﭠﭡﭢﭣﭤﭥﭦﭧﭨ

68. اور (یہ) وہ لوگ ہیں جو اللہ کے ساتھ کسی دوسرے معبود کی پوجا نہیں کرتے اور نہ (ہی) کسی ایسی جان کو قتل کرتے ہیں جسے بغیرِ حق مارنا اللہ نے حرام فرمایا ہے اور نہ (ہی) بدکاری کرتے ہیں، اور جو شخص یہ کام کرے گا وہ سزائے گناہ پائے گاo

68. And these are the people who do not worship any other god apart from Allah, nor do they kill the soul whose killing without any lawful cause Allah has forbidden, nor do they commit adultery. And whoever does this will receive the punishment due for the sin.

ﭩﭪﭫﭬﭭﭮﭯﭰﭱ

69. اس کے لئے قیامت کے دن عذاب دو گنا کر دیا جائے گا اور وہ اس میں ذلت و خواری کے ساتھ ہمیشہ رہے گاo

69. His punishment will be doubled on the Day of Rising and, disgraced and humiliated, he will live in it forever.

ﭲﭳﭴﭵﭶﭷﭸﭹﭺﭻﭼﭽﭾﭿﮀﮁﮂﮃ

70. مگر جس نے توبہ کر لی اور ایمان لے آیا اور نیک عمل کیا تو یہ وہ لوگ ہیں کہ اللہ جن کی برائیوں کو نیکیوں سے بدل دے گا، اور اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہےo

70. But whoever repents and believes and does good deeds, so these are the people whose evil deeds Allah will change into good ones. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Ever-Merciful.

ﮄﮅﮆﮇﮈﮉﮊﮋﮌﮍ

71. اور جس نے توبہ کر لی اور نیک عمل کیا تو اس نے اللہ کی طرف (وہ) رجوع کیا جو رجوع کا حق تھاo

71. And whoever repents and executes good, so he returns to Allah (the way) returning is due.

ﮎﮏﮐﮑﮒﮓﮔﮕﮖﮗ

72. اور (یہ) وہ لوگ ہیں جو کذب اور باطل کاموں میں (قولاً اور عملاً دونوں صورتوں میں) حاضر نہیں ہوتے اور جب بے ہودہ کاموں کے پاس سے گزرتے ہیں تو (دامن بچاتے ہوئے) نہایت وقار اور متانت کے ساتھ گزر جاتے ہیںo

72. And these are the people who do not attend (both verbally and practically) the false and untruthful matters, and when they pass by evil activities, they pass on (observing caution) with utmost nobility and dignity.

ﮘﮙﮚﮛﮜﮝﮞﮟﮠﮡﮢ

73. اور (یہ) وہ لوگ ہیں کہ جب انہیں ان کے رب کی آیتوں کے ذریعے نصیحت کی جاتی ہے تو ان پر بہرے اور اندھے ہو کر نہیں گر پڑتے (بلکہ غور و فکر بھی کرتے ہیں)o

73. And these are the people who, when they are directed and guided by means of Revelations of their Lord, do not fall at them deaf and blind (but reflect on them).

ﮣﮤﮥﮦﮧﮨﮩﮪﮫﮬﮭﮮﮯﮰ

74. اور (یہ) وہ لوگ ہیں جو (حضورِ باری تعالیٰ میں) عرض کرتے ہیں: اے ہمارے رب! ہمیں ہماری بیویوں اور ہماری اولاد کی طرف سے آنکھوں کی ٹھنڈک عطا فرما، اور ہمیں پرہیزگاروں کا پیشوا بنا دےo

74. And these are the people who submit (before the presence of Allah): ‘O our Lord, grant us coolness of eyes in our wives and our children, and make us leaders of the Godfearing people.’

ﮱﯓﯔﯕﯖﯗﯘﯙﯚﯛ

75. انہی لوگوں کو (جنت میں) بلند ترین محلات ان کے صبر کرنے کی جزا کے طور پر بخشے جائیں گے اور وہاں دعائے خیر اور سلام کے ساتھ ان کا استقبال کیا جائے گاo

75. They will be rewarded with lofty palaces (in Paradise) as recompense for their patience and steadfastness and will be welcomed therein with greetings and salutations of peace.

ﯜﯝﯞﯟﯠﯡﯢ

76. یہ اس میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں وہ (بلند محلاتِ جنت) بہترین قرار گاہ اور (عمدہ) قیام گاہ ہیںo

76. They will live therein forever. Those (lofty palaces in Paradise) are the most excellent lodgings and (decent) abodes.

ﯣﯤﯥﯦﯧﯨﯩﯪﯫﯬﯭﯮﯯﯰ

77. فرما دیجئے: میرے رب کو تمہاری کوئی پرواہ نہیں اگر تم (اس کی) عبادت نہ کرو، پس واقعی تم نے (اسے) جھٹلایا ہے تو اب یہ (جھٹلانا تمہارے لئے) دائمی عذاب بنا رہے گاo

77. Say: ‘My Lord cares little for you if you do not worship (Him). But you have indeed rejected (Him). So now this (denial) will ever endure as a permanent torment (for you).’
